Newcastle Interested In Talented 23-Year-Old Greek International Defender

The Mirror are reporting today that Newcastle are interested in signing Olympiakos left-back Leonardo Koutris.

The 23-year-old was born in Brazil and has been playing in Greece since he signed a three-year contract with Greek Super League club PAS Giannina in January 2016.

In April of 2017, the talented left-sided defender had been outstanding and signed a contract with champions Olympiacos.

Koutris holds both Greek as well as Brazilian citizenship being born of a Greek father and a Brazilian mother.

The Mirror report there are several clubs watching the 23-year-old who can play left-back and left wing-back and Rafa needs a left wing back brought in this summer.

Koutris has played 22 times for Olympiacos in all competitions and has 54 total appearances for the Greek powerhouse with one goal and 8 assists.

Rafa also needs to bring in a left-back to challenge Paul Dummett for that position with Paul becoming a stalwart under Rafa Benitez for the last three years.

It looks like loanee  Antonio Barreca from Monaco is not that player and he has appeared only for a few minutes this year.

Everton are the Premier League club who have become interested in the talented Greek International.

I think taking Antonio Barreca on loan from Monaco
was Rafa doing a favour for the Italian agent (his pal)
    Giuseppe Riso.

In return I think in the Summerwe’ll get Atalanta CF
Andrea Petagna who is a 23 year old version of Rondon

“A Switzerland football player knocked out in an aerial clash in a Euro 2020 qualifier received emergency help from a member of rival team Georgia.

Fabian Schaer’s head collided with the skull of Georgia’s Jemal Tabidze as both went for the ball in the 24th minute of the match in Tbilisi.

Schaer lay unconscious on the ground, his tongue stuck down his throat.

Georgian player Jano Ananidze rushed to his aid, inserting his hand in Schaer’s mouth to free the player’s tongue.”
