Rafa Press Conference – Only One Player Injured – Fabian Schar Is Fine

Rafa has just given his press conference for the tough game at the Emirates on Monday night – a game that will be televised live around the world.

The manager was again asked about his own contract situation but said things are the same and it’s still too early to talk.

Rafa Benitez speaking to the press

Fabian Scar has been checked out after suffering a concussion last weekend and Rafa says he’s fine.

But Fabian will not be available for the Arsenal game because of a two-game suspension for picking up 10 yellow cards.

This is some of what Rafa has said in his press conference today:

“The lads are fine. Always the international break is complicated because you can see players are tired, they have little niggles.”

“Longstaff is the only player who is injured. Schar has had a test this morning on his head because of his injury with Switzerland and he is fine.”

“He’s trained lightly. The rest should be fine”

“Atsu, Yedlin and Almiron only returned to training on Friday and there are some players with “knocks””

“With the game being a Monday we have extra time for players returning. It’s difficult to get players ready for a Saturday, so they should be fine.”

“Lascelles has been training and should be fine”

At Last! A music post which is also relevant to football / NUFC.

Dave ‘Brownsound’ Baksh, Canadian guitarist from Heavy Metal band Sum 41, is a long-term NUFC fan.

Geordie Two, is there something you’re not telling us?

Sounds to me like a fairly straight-forward line up for Monday, if everyone is ‘fine’.

Only change may be Shelvey to start ahead of Hayden, but I don’t think that will happen away from home.

Perez, I for one have on numbers of occasions given him shite, not cause I dislike him but because he was inconsistent. But recently or since Miggy has joined he seems to be playing well, yes some fans did boo him and he didn’t do himself any favors by putting his fingers in his ears when he scored every three to four games.

The one thing now that bothers me about him if he gets fouled and nothing is given he has his hand outstretched to his sides for five minutes pouting to the ref while the game is going on.

He reminds me a little off Ameobi, didn’t score as many goals as he could of, but Ameobi didn’t pout and played for the crest.

Like I said a few weeks back about Hayden, if he has any doubts about our club then we should cash in and get someone that wants to be here, sad really that he has now started to play better and wants to leave.
