After 31 games played, the Newcastle United stats this season are exactly the same as last season.
What were the odds that would happen?
And in his press conference yesterday when Rafa was told about it, he said he was surprised.
He thought with the addition of Almiron and Rondon Newcastle were a bigger threat up front than last season.
Rafa Benitez – speaking to the press
Here are the stats after 31 games played.
|Premier League Season||Played||Won||Drawn||Lost||GF||GA||GD||Points||Position|
This is what Rafa said in his press conference yesterday about the stats:
“I was surprised,”“I think it’s special. I can take that as a positive.”
“If we do well, we can finish 10th, because we’re doing more or less the same. “When we were safe (last season), we lost four games and won the last one against Chelsea.”
“The stats are interesting, similar to last year, but the team is doing better things, have more in attack and the players know each other more.”
“Maybe Almiron is giving us something in attack, helping Rondon and Ayoze.”
It could be positive because in our last seven games last season we won three and lost four.
So if we can get better than 9 points from our last seven games, we will beat the 44 points we got last season.
But it may be difficult getting something at the Emirates on Monday night.
