We have to hope that results go for us this weekend before we take on Arsenal on Monday night at the Emirates.
But you never know what’s going to happen in relegation related games, but all eyes will be on Cardiff City, Burnley, and Southampton.
Burnley play Wolves at home today, and Brighton play Southampton at the Amex Stadium.
If the Saints win that game, they will go level on points with Brighton.
It would help Newcastle if Burnley and Southampton both lose today, and then tomorrow Cardiff play at home to Chelsea.
As we said, anything can happen in these games.
But if Cardiff do lose at home tomorrow, we will be 7 points ahead of them with a much better goal difference, and then we could even extend that at the Emirates on Monday night.
Rafa hinted yesterday a deal could still be done to stay on board as said this in the Chronicle:
“I always say the same, concentrate on the games.” “We have to do what we have to do.”
“The job is still not done.””We have to concentrate on games and then we will have time to talk about the future.”
“But for me I am just concentrating on talking with Newcastle and see where we can go.”
“I talk with Lee Charnley sometimes, but I am just concentrating on the games for now.”
“The risk for us in the international break and at this stage of the season the players are a little bit tired.”
“Then they have to find another way to train.”
“It is dangerous for us as we have little knocks but nothing serious.”
Fans are becoming just a little anxious as we will be into April on Monday and Rafa has only weeks left on his contract at Newcastle.
Once we are safe in the league Rafa’s contract can be sorted out, and hopefully, he will stay with us – and for a long time in the future.
Comments welcome.

Because they know regardless what they do, Newcastle fans will continue to travel and turn up in numbers.
Tv companies in Germany tried that this year and Dortmund boycotted with 15000 fans because of the rescheduling. I read that theyare reverting back to normal next season.

Comment #5I’m sure in the past Rafa has said he talks with Lee Charnley everyday but now it is just sometimes – not sure whether to read anything in that or not?

Comment #6This article from the mirror https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/weird-news/time-traveller-2045-passes-lie-14192798
Said a guy says he’s from the future andpassed a lie detector. Said who the USA president is etc.
Money mike Ashley Twitter account took the opportunity to state that he said Mike Ashley will still be owner of Newcastle United.
Since it’s been a bit quiet on here recently, maybe you can take this chance and add your own predictions? Joke or serious, doesn’t mind. I’ve got a couple…

Comment #10With Rafa talking and prepping for China in July surely it should I say hopefully that means contract talks are going on behind close doors and things seem to be going well.
With his contract up before July then he must be close to signing? RIGHT!!
Fingers crossed:)

Without injured 10-goal top scorer Mitrovic, Fulham’s starting line-up has scored a combined 7 PL goals this season.
Today’s Man City substitutes have 22 PL goals between them

Yes, an interesting article that illustrates the dangers of being so attached to work and simply summed up in the words ‘Over the past year, both have reassessed the importance of work and say they are determined to put family and friends first’
To those among us whose work is their life, value those around you more than the business that’s driving you, effectively ruling and possibly ruining real friendships and family relationships – you’ll miss them when the business’s finished with you!
# Here’s hoping for a good result on Monday.
