Miguel Almiron has had an excellent start to his Newcastle career but will also welcome a little time off before preseason starts after a hectic last year for the Paraguayan International.
Almiron was interviewed in the Chronicle and he is particularly happy with the welcome and support he’s already received from the Newcastle fans.
The fans do have faith in the 25-year-old becasue he looks exactly what we need up front – creativity, and skill mixed with raw speed.
And it seems the former Atlanta United forward cannot go too wrong if he sticks to the good advice his father has given him while growing up.
Tommy Smith welcomes Miguel Almiron to the Premier League with a wild and dangerous tackle
He was also awestruck when he saw the banner that Wor Flags had created for him on his some debut against Huddersfield – which we won 2-0.
This is what Miguel has said in the Chronicle
“The fans have shown amazing faith in me, and the team. Straight away they given me their love and I want to make them happy, make them proud,”
“What would I say to that small boy in Paraguay? Thank you, for your patience and your perseverance, keep going, work hard.”
“That was what my dad always told me.”
“To come from Paraguay to a city I had not even heard of growing up and have people show me so much love, it is an incredible feeling. I’m very proud, it’s a special journey.
“When I saw the (Wor Miguel) banner in the stands for my first game, it was very emotional.”
“It is incredible support and I will repay them; I will thank them with my performances – I will not let them down.”
Perseverance is so important in any career – you have to keep going through all the ups and downs – and it’s not always easy.
It’s great advice from Ruben – Miguel’s father.
The Paraguayan seems to have everything to become a huge success on Tyneside.
Maybe he can help us get at least a point at the Emirates tonight?
