Newcastle Interested In Signing 6ft 5ins Holding Midfielder

German media outlet BILD is reporting that Newcastle are interested in signing Nuremberg defensive midfielder Patrick Erras.

Nuremberg are currently the second bottom side in the Bundesliga, and they seem sure to be one of the clubs relegated this season.

Erras is right-footed, and he has played only 13 times in the Bundesliga this season for the second bottom side, and he’s started only 7 games.

So if the BILD report is accurate, Rafa must see something he likes in the player.

6ft 5ins tall Nuremberg defensive midfielder Patrick Erras

He came through the Youth Academy at Nuremberg and made his Bundesliga debut back in October 2015 against FSV Frankfurt.

He’s played 57 total games for Nuremberg with 6 goals and 3 assists.

Rafa will want to bring in at least one defensive midfielder this summer since it’s likely that both Isaac Hayden and Mo Diame will be leaving the club.

This is what Erras has said about a potential move this summer:

“My contract expires in 2020, of course leaving crosses your mind.”

“I can confirm that clubs from the Premier League and the Bundesliga have already approached my advisor.”

“But my first point of contact will always be the club.”

There is a lot of interest from other clubs too in the giant defensive midfielder.

Rafa will want to bring in some low-cost bargains this summer – like Erras – as he did last summer with the likes of Ki and Schar.

But the manager will also want owner Mike Ashley to support him to bring in at least one or maybe even two high-priced transfer targets.

What do you think?

I honestly don’t care who they sign or who they bring in if Rafa is let go, it will be the biggest act of gross negligence, and there have been many in Ashley’s reign.

Especially when the only reason he would have left is due to him showing some ambition for our club

Probably the first time in world football

This boy looks a bit of a monster would like us to get a big physical defensive mid like this who would basically win everything in the air and bully teams !

Given that this was a Quarter Final between Manure and Barca, why did they put a YTS trainee on as referee?

There was a Canadian guy on our rig who supported Bayern Munich, I thought it was due to Jorman ancestry but he said it was because growing up they only showed the Bundesliga on free TV and that’s what he watched, can anyone shed light on that?

I think the team for Friday night will be very predictable, Shelvey should have been a shoe in but his performance on Saturday was a disgrace, I thought he was medicated. Yedlin should be dropped but has Manquillo formerly of loads of Madrid clubs and Lpool and still shite as his replacement, so that’s a tricky one. Joselu means Rondon will 100% start and Lejuene out will see Dummet come back or Fernandez, not that predictable but most shoddy still get at least a nine on a Rafa bingo card.

I think the few matches that Manquillo played earlier this season he did well. He can attack, although he doesn’t have Yedlin’s pace and seems to be a better defender.

If he comes in, he won’t let us down.

Lesh the brexiteers are now getting humiliated in Brussels. If you don’t leave, shouldnt the UK govt not pick up some of the tab for massive amounts of money wasted by businesses a nf for the stress caused by having to look at a buffoon like Rees mogg (the man who invested in euroland whilst slagging the place off) every second night of the week?

Yeah, the stadium needs work. Old Trafford is falling to bits they reckon. We are very probably money in, money out though, at least eventually. As I see it the problem has always been how and when the money goes back in, and of course that revenue streams haven’t been maximized, and the two relegations and years of poor achievement have cost us financially and the numerous poor appointments and poor decisions. We desperately need Rafa to continue fixing the club.

A few months back I posted an article, think it was by Kieran maguire the price of football guy where he compiled the amount that had been spent by clubs who had been in the championship at least once in a 10 year period. Think between 2007-2017 it was or 8-18.

Basically it included the total spent on infrastructure in terms of training facilities and stadium etc. Top of my head we had only spent about £8-10m over this period. To put this into perspective Brighton had spent over £100m and doesn’t include the new training facilities they are planning to build. Brentford for all their might spent considerably more. To be honest many teams did.

You regularly see on Twitter that people post photos of the stadium being neglected, like unkept toilets, seat names and numbers falling off, ripped seats and broken arm rests. Even an actual seat being broken and not replaced.

It’s worth digging out to be honest, I thought it should have made quite big news in the media but nothing of the sorts.
