German media outlet BILD is reporting that Newcastle are interested in signing Nuremberg defensive midfielder Patrick Erras.
Nuremberg are currently the second bottom side in the Bundesliga, and they seem sure to be one of the clubs relegated this season.
Erras is right-footed, and he has played only 13 times in the Bundesliga this season for the second bottom side, and he’s started only 7 games.
So if the BILD report is accurate, Rafa must see something he likes in the player.
6ft 5ins tall Nuremberg defensive midfielder Patrick Erras
He came through the Youth Academy at Nuremberg and made his Bundesliga debut back in October 2015 against FSV Frankfurt.
He’s played 57 total games for Nuremberg with 6 goals and 3 assists.
Rafa will want to bring in at least one defensive midfielder this summer since it’s likely that both Isaac Hayden and Mo Diame will be leaving the club.
This is what Erras has said about a potential move this summer:
“My contract expires in 2020, of course leaving crosses your mind.”
“I can confirm that clubs from the Premier League and the Bundesliga have already approached my advisor.”
“But my first point of contact will always be the club.”
There is a lot of interest from other clubs too in the giant defensive midfielder.
Rafa will want to bring in some low-cost bargains this summer – like Erras – as he did last summer with the likes of Ki and Schar.
But the manager will also want owner Mike Ashley to support him to bring in at least one or maybe even two high-priced transfer targets.
What do you think?

Comment #81Did he call for his mate Phil Green to go to jail or worry about all the suppliers and customers who lost money on HoF, what a bare faced cheek the man has.

Comment #82Jail your naivety is breathtaking
The entire concept of Trustpilot is fundamentally flawed and unreliable
as a source of independent opinion, as long as it keeps on taking
monetary payment from large companies in return for positive reviews.
80% of Trust pilot reviews are written by Trust pilot employees.

Me Ma bought something online there and tried to return it, had a nightmare, she didn’t leave a review but it’s what everyone is saying. Do you honestly think HoF and all his other companies would allow a load of fictitious reviews to go unanswered, all those left by that Twitter campaign last year where removed.

Comment #87That’s why the Anti Ashley brigade are doomed to failure.
The various protest groups are run and joined by the less
bright citizens of Newcastle.

Ashley flatly refuses to have anything to do with
consumer groups – so the reviews will be written
by TP employees on behalf of HoF competitors
who will play ball.
I’m surprised a clued-up business man like yourself
couldn’t work that one out

Comment #97Trust pilot is a Danish company
Independent investigations have revealed that review websites such as Trustpilot have fake reviews on an almost industrial scale.] There is controversy about the legitimacy of some of Trustpilot’s and other consumer review websites’ reviews and the way that it deals with complaints about them, although Trustpilot insists that it strives to only include genuine reviews. The firm allows businesses to selectively display reviews about them, which may violate certain laws or regulations. Trustpilot featured fake reviews for Bizzyloans, one of which depicted a picture of a woman who had died. The fake reviewers often steal the identities of real people to falsely build up reviewed companies’ reputations. Most of Trustpilot’s Bizzyloans reviews were fake, but Trustpilot deleted them after they were brought to light by KwikChex, an online investigations company.
You need to get out more Jail
