Newcastle are reportedly keen on Bournemouth’s 25-year-old Scottish winger Ryan Fraser who joined Bournemouth from his home town club Aberdeen back in 2013.
The winger has just one year left on his contract with the south coast club and the news is that Rafa Benitez is interested in the player who usually plays on the left wing but is right footed.
Arsenal are also reported to be interested in the player and news is being reported in the Daily Record.
Spurs are also being linked with a move for the player, who is an old-fashioned type of direct winger.
Newcastle interested in Bournemouth winger Paul Fraser
Newcastle’s bid, according to the Sun, would be a player plus cash deal with Matt Ritchie involved in returning t his former club.
We’re not sure why Matt Ritchie is being brought up as potentially leaving Newcastle this summer – the same thing happened last summer.
Matt Ritchie is one of our best players, and he still has some years left so we’re not sure why we would want to sell the former Bournemouth player.
We’re not sure this deal would be a good one for Newcastle unless Fraser has improved massively this season.
Arsenal are said to be ready to bid £20M for the 6 times capped Scottish International.
This is what Bournemouth Chairman Jeff Mostyn said:
“Ryan Fraser is a Bournemouth player. We just don’t want anybody to leave the football club.”
“Your prized assets are prized assets for a reason and we want to continue the momentum that we have achieved.”
Fraser was called up to the senior Scotland squad in March 2017 and he made his international debut in June 2017, in a 2–2 draw with England.
This season Fraser has made 37 appearances for the Cherries with 7 goals and 11 assists.
