This Is Our Predicted Newcastle Team To Face Leicester Tonight

There are only two players in the squad not available for tonight game – long term injured players Sean Longstaff and Florian Lejeune.

So Rafa will have to decide what formation he will play tonight, but we expect it will be five at the back to try to get a clean sheet and possibly a win.

The last time we had a clean sheet was six games ago when we beat Burney 2-0 at home.

Rafa has choices to make at the back and in central midfield.

Paul Dummett – should be back in starting eleven tonight

Mo Diame is fit again, and he could come straight back into the starting lineup to partner Isaac Hayden in the middle of the park.

This could be the team Rafa starts tonight in a 3-4-3 formation:

Schar Lascelles (c) Dummett
Yedlin Diame Hayden Ritchie
Perez Rondon Almiron

That’s two changes from Saturday with Diame in for Ki and Dummett in for the injured Lejeune.

We could also possibly see Manquillo in for Yedlin.

Newcastle will play counter-attack against the Foxes but what’s let us down over the last several games is we are conceding too many goals.

We really need a clean sheet and an excellent defensive performance tonight if we are to win this game or come away with a point.

Another defeat would leave us waiting a long 8 days before our next game at home to Southampton.

We’d have to hope Cardiff City don’t beat Burnley away tomorrow.

I just don’t think 3 at the back works that well against all the teams sometimes you have to have more in midfield to get a foothold in a game other wise the 2 in the middle are just chasing shadows and lose possession the second they get it eg the Arsenal game!! Even having Ki, Diame and Hayden to begin with in a 433 formation would be good or put Almiron into his natural no 10 role !!

On the BBC gossip column, says the PSG owners are looking to buy a premier League Club, we can live in hope!!

Couldn’t be Man U right now as a conflict of interest as both in champions league and both be in some European competition next season.

Probably not us, but like I said, we can live in hope

What’s letting us down is players who cannot pass a ball, cannot cross, cannot control a ball, and cannot retain possession. You can’t play counter attacking football with such obvious problems.
5-4-1 will be the formation again and Rondon running around like a headless chicken as a result.

@Simon – why would they? Under UEFA rules, clubs with the same owners cannot compete in UEFA club competitions.
You really think Qatar are going to pump money into a club which cannot play in the CL, even if they qualified?

I thought the same thing and why I said what I did. I know we won’t be in a UEFA competition next season no matter what, but as you said, money in who knows the following season, but it would cause major problems

Got to play Almiron up top with Rondon to utilise his speed – Not as a fetcher and carrier.
And for **** sake leave someone up field at their corners for quick break counter attack as Palace did with Saha to utilise his speed and ball control capacity

Charlie if I made those comments the taliban would be all over me. We can only hope that rafa sees it this way too but I can see a very defensive set up and approach tonight and miggy will be working back all the time. Hope for the best anyway.
