Cardiff Win Last Night – Brighton Could Be In Trouble

Cardiff City have played quite well over the last few games at Burnley, Manchester City and at home to Chelsea without having any luck, since they beat West 2-1 at home on 9th March.

But last night at Brighton they did what they had to do and won the game 2-0, and now they have a chance to stay up.

They are 2 points behind Brighton – who have a game in hand and a better goal difference.

It will still be tough for Cardiff to be safe, but it’s more possible than it was before last night’s result.

Here’s how things look at the moment in the bottom half of the league with Newcastle still 7 points clear of the relegation zone.

17Brighton38-2536
18Cardiff38-3534
19Fulham38-3726
20Huddersfield38-5416

Brighton are in a terrible slump at the moment and have lost their last five league games without being able to score a goal, and we visit Brighton a week on Saturday in the late game.

We still think Newcastle are safe but the Seagulls will have to break out of their losing streak otherwise Cardiff have a chance of catching them.

Here are Newcastle’s last four games and we play both Brighton and Liverpool so will have a say in who will be the Premier League Champions and which clubs get relegated.

Both games are bound to be televised live around the world

Sat 20 Apr Newcastle vs Southampton 5:30pm
Sat 27 Apr Brighton vs Newcastle 5:30pm
Sun 05 May Newcastle vs Liverpool 4:30pm
Sun 12 May Fulham vs Newcastle 3:00pm

We need to beat Southampton on Saturday at home, and Cardiff’s win will give Rafa and the players an extra incentive to get the win.

Comments welcome.

so if Rafa doesn’t know if he’ll still be manager next season who’s making the decisions to let these players go . it must be the club that’s letting Ritchie go

I really hope we beat Soton and Brighton can get a result at Wolves. Would hate us to be putting Hoots in any danger.

Munster……….. Just to keep up your education on Irish Sport :-

Rugby is a thugs game played by gentlemen.
Soccer is a gentleman’s game played by thugs.
And Gaelic Football is a thug’s game played by thugs.

I personally would love it if Brighton were relegated.

Nothing to do with hoots even though his management of us was slightly before my full time support.

I just hate there team, I hate that they rely on there big centre halves to score there goals. They play shite football and I don’t think they deserve to stay in this league.

Cardiff meanwhile have been extremely valiant this season after all they have been through.

Really hoping Cardiff stay up and take Brighton’ place.

    Jib,
When was the last time Lee Churnley answered any type of questions where him and his goons hadn’t first thought of the answer?

Has it ever crossed you mind to post a bit of info
instead of just picking holes in other posts.
You questioned how up to date Ed’s last post was
when it was quite blatantly wrong.
When it blatantly had the date (16/04/2019) on the link

I mean it was really blatant

“We still think Newcastle are safe …”

Cardiff are 7 points behind us, with a horrible Goal Difference and fixtures against Liverpool, Fulham, Palace and Manure.

I think the strength of brightons and cardiffs fixtures tells us who will go down. If we beat Southampton on saturday we are safe full stop imho.

However if we dont then beating brighton settles it and i believe it also dooms them. Cardiff play fulham after liverpool. If they beat them i believe brighton are doomed.

Jail – exactly, we and rafa will get nothing but washed out thin answers that tell us nothing. Which ironically tells us everything. …nothing has changed and rafa will leave unless he accepts ashleys lies which i believe he wont

    Jib,
I wasn’t picking holes in that post at all, how many times have we seen seen stories before where it has been hobbled together from something said last week or more, I asked is it old news and now know it isn’t.

Really wanted Cardiff to lose so they lose all belief in staying up. We’re still not safe ourselves and have a fear of us counting our chics before they hatch.

    Betty

‘Gaelic football is a thugs game played by thugs’?

Can I ask where you were educated on Irish games s this is definitely not the case.

I personally don’t offend much but that is a slight on Irish heritage and culture… Can you name me one other AMATEUR sport around the world that has a more dedicated pool of enthusiasts that play it… The AMATEURS that compete in Gaelic games do it for the overall love of the game, it’s a sport which takes pride in its amateur status with the elite participants lucky to get their costs covered for their boots and travel, the participants are empassioned sportsmen that wear their heart on their sleeves and leave everything on the pitch for their only reward being success… You get very tough men playing the game but definitely not thugs!

    Rant over 🙂

Lascelles, we all know gaa is brilliant, hurling and football and we are privileged to have them. Poor Betty is an English bad mannered fool. If he spoke for Irish people I would be embarrassed.
