Rafa Benitez Still Waiting For Answers – Conditions Not Met

There is still no agreement between Rafa Benitez and Newcastle to stay on and it looked like the manager is still waiting to hear back from owner Mike Ashley and the conditions he has laid out to the owner to stay on board at the club.

We hope we can get this thing sorted out quickly because things could sour soon with less than four weeks left in the season and Rafa needing to know whether he will still be at Newcastle in June.

Rafa Benitez – still waiting for answers

Rafa has been speaking to the Madrid based outlet Marca, and this is what the Newcastle manager had to say:

“I am in contact with the club and I am waiting for answers to questions I have proposed to continue.”

“My family is in England and I am content here – but a series of conditions have to be met.”

“To stay, we need to sit down, talk well about the economic possibilities of the club and what direction we’re going in.”

“We have to mix experience and youth, that is the balance we have to achieve.”

“English teams have a lot of economic potentials and attract the best players.”

“That is good for big Premier League teams but it is a drawback for teams like ours.”

Newcastle have problems signing players becasue they seem to hesitate, wait and ponder before signing any deal.

The same thing seems to be going on with Rafa – they are waiting and waiting to meet his conditions.

You can never accuse Mike Ashley of being decisive.

Let’s hope Rafa can sign quickly – the sooner, the better as far as fans are concerned.

But even with Rafa staying at the club, we don’t expect things to change that much – we hope we are wrong on that.

Comments welcome.

    Repost;

This really is surprising considering he is one of the first names on the team sheet, always gives his all and the fact we’re already going to ship a hell of a lot of players out this summer. I would have thought in keeping the core of the team intact.

I also thought Ritchie would be our mainstay LWB for the foreseeable future. Guess I was wrong.

Jp – yep. Considering the cost of replacing him . But if you are just looking at numbers and resale value ashley will want max reward and buy cheap. The names being suggested of top talented youngsters are pie in the sky false hope in my opinion. Teams will want top dollar for them. Ashley will want loans and cheap replacements. Thats our reality under the clown. He won’t change and if you expect the worst you wont be far wrong.

Rafa is the right man so i fully expect him to ve gone by june.

If Fat Mick is serious about selling the club why does it matter to him what Rafa wants – just give it to him!
Does he really want to sell?
