Rafa Now LIkely To Have Meeting With Ashley – We Have To Talk

Rafa Benitez is willing to talk with Mike Ashley when the Newcastle owner returns from his vacation in the US.

Newcastle put in an excellent performance yesterday and had another massive win, 3-1 against a good-looking Southampton side.

And Ayoze Perez was simply electric and scored a fantastic hat-trick for us and played his best game ever for Newcastle.

Yesterday Ayoze looked world-class.

But as Rafa said after the game the Spaniard must still become more consistent – but he’s shown many times on Tyneside just how skillful he is and at the moment he’s full of confidence.

Newcastle moved up to 12th place in the Premier League, and we are on 41 points after 35 games – 4 more points in the final three games will beat last season’s points total of 44.

Rafa Benitez – on the touchline yesterday

In his press conference after the game, Rafa was asked if he will talk directly with Ashley when he returns from his vacation.

This is what he said as reported in the Shields Gazette:

“I have no idea.” “We have to talk.”

“Everything that will happen between now and June 30 has to be good for everyone.”

“One way or another way, still I’m the manager until June 30.” “I have to decide if we sign anyone, so we have to talk any time.”

“I’m really pleased (with the win).”

“The players did really well during the whole season, and the fans, both away and at home, have also been really helpful for the group.”

“There are a lot of positives. To have 41 points at this stage of the season means we’re nearly safe.”

“We cannot say mathematically we’re safe, but we are nearly safe, and now we have three games to try to do our best and finish as high as possible in the table.”

Watching the game on TV the commentators over here in the US praised the fans, Rafa and the players during an excellent team performance.

They kept saying Newcastle is one of the major football cities in England where they just love their football.

Surely there’s no way Ashley can let Rafa Benitez leave the club after another masterful piece of coaching this season?

I know they like to tell us foot all when it suits them but unless they do say absolutely nothing, how are they going to explain Rafa leaving. With Hoots it was because they wanted to push on and have someone who challenged them ( 😮 ) How can they explain that he left because he had more ambition than them, if he does leave I hope to gawd that it becomes the tipping point that will finally unite the fans.

He’s got a lot of haters but I think Manquillo deserves a bit of credit recently and he’s actually had an alright season.

Decent squad player who by playing in his preferred position as a right wing back, has improved.

Big well done to Ayoze though, full of confidence at the moment. Bit more consistency and he can be a regular 15 goals a season player. Signing Rondon is a must, just give them Gayle and Murphy in exchange.

This could play into FatMans hands – unable to agree with Rafa, who walks at the end of June. Month to get new puppet in , then another month to assess the squad – at a time when other teams are getting their transfer plans sorted. Window open – we go looking at the bargain basement – and of course 1 marquee signing that we wont get over the line.

Pocket the cash and then blame every one else

You know its possible / probable
