He does it at the end of most seasons and just like last year at this time Ayoze Perez is in among the goals for Newcastle.
And as we all know he scored his first hat-trick for Newcastle in the fantastic 3-1 win over Southampton last Saturday.
That’s only the second hat-trick of his career, and he scored one at Tenerife in the Spanish second division.
Ayoze is now top of the goalscoring charts on Tyneside with 11 goals, and all but one of them has been scored in the Premier League.
The thing to remember about Ayoze is he always works his socks off for the club and always puts in a good shift.
Ayoze Perez – has been unreal in training and in games recently
Captain Jamaal Lascelles says Perez has been unreal lately both in training and in games.
This is what Lascelles has said about Newcastle’s new star:
“Recently, he has been unreal, in training and games,”
“He’s not the fastest of players, but he just skips by players. I don’t know what it is, his balance or his dribbling. He works so hard.”
“He is up there with the most interceptions as well, most tackles. He does do a lot of the dirty work as well as scoring goals.”
“He has been a key player for us this season. He is a massive player for us, that was his tenth Premier League goal, and it would be nice to keep him.”
Unfortunately, it looks like Miguel Almiron is out for the season with a hamstring problem, but we are hoping that Ayoze can keep up his goalscoring form in the final three games at Brighton, at home to Liverpool, and at Fulham to close out the season.
We will do very well to get two wins out of those final three games.
Maybe even three wins?

“Charnley’s wage may have doubled, but he is still one of the lowest-paid directors in the PL. #nufc are also the only club to have just one named director in the PL”
Can think of some unnamed ones!

Comment #3Glad to see Perez doing well, he seems to have benefited the most from the Almiron signing, he’s getting a lot more space with other teams occupied with Almiron. Perez could possibly be the 20goals a season striker we’ve been looking for, 6 goals in the 10 games Almirion has played and he seems to be staying on his feet a lot more now too
