Newcastle’s League Position, Upcoming Three Games – And Goalscorers

We did ourselves a lot of good by winning the last two games at Leicester and at home to Southampton.

Both games looked difficult after we surprisingly were beaten at home by Crystal Palace and we did great to get all 6 points.

That has taken us to safety on 41 points, and we need 4 points in our final three games to beat last year’s points total of 44 points.

But it seems the best we can do in the table is to finish 11th – one place lower than last season.

Rafa Benitez – upbeat with thumbs-up

Here’s our league position after yesterday 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge between Chelsea and Burnley – a good point by Burnley.

17Brighton38-2536
18Cardiff38-3534
19Fulham38-3726
20Huddersfield38-5416

And here are the three remaining games with Liverpool at home looking like a real corker!

Sat 04 May Newcastle vs Liverpool 7:45pm
Sun 12 May Fulham vs Newcastle 3:00pm

And finally, to round things off here are all our goalscorers for the season so far.

It’s such a travesty we ended up with the worst billionaire to buy a football club.

We have a world class manager, tremendous stadium which fills every game with loyal fans, the nucleus of a great team…but we have CharnLIE and AshLIE running us.

What hope has Rafa got when the man he needs to talk to is on holiday in Miami. Sums it up really.

How on earth is any new manager going to instil the togetherness, work ethic and desire to succeed that Rafa manages to coax out of a comparatively mediocre squad week in and week out?

Two Penalties for Brighton and a sending off for us, thank goodness we are already safe !

    Its ALWAYS about him.

I thought Rafa approached Nufc, is that not the case?

If so why would his agent offer him the job?

Wouldn’t it make more sense that his agent offered Nufc Rafas services?

Ashley will do it this way.

Convince Rafa to stay – shortchange him on the promises – maybe make a concession or two but basically pull back the funds with some excuse. Hope he gets him to perform another miracle or two.

Should he fail to convince Rafa and he leaves…

New manager – Ashley gives him a massive transfer chest – mainly just to spite Rafa – but knowing the new mananger needs more quality in the squad to keep us up. Think an amount something like he gave Schteve.

OP……….. All the good work that Rafa has systematically and painstakingly put in to build that squad into a hard working unit will all be flushed away if he leaves. It just seems so sad and unfair.

The games in China this summer should be very interesting. What are the odds it will be with a new manager? I think Rafa would love to stay with us. If only he gets the right kind of signals from Ashley it should be possible. Hard to say what a final contract might look like but I definitely don’t think it will include any kind of guaranteed war chest for players. It’s going to be more sell and spend as you go more than likely. I would like to see Sorensen get some kind of opportunity with the big team next season. I hope Rafa thinks he’s ready for it after the disaster at Blackpool.

I’m over worrying what will happen.

One way or another there’ll be change, I’d give myself a heart attack if I kept thinking about.

Sad if Rafa leaves but also maybe the spark the fans need to revolt, until it happens I’m telling myself therell be a new owner soon and a bright new future on the horizon.

Do not fret ladies and gents.

The sale of the club is almost complete. It was all resting on Premier League survival. Mathematical survival. Awaiting confirmation.

Peter Kenyon and his band of wealthy men are just waiting in the shadows.

Due to NDAs nobody has spoken a word and of course Rafa is none the wiser. He will be informed of the sale of the club and then sit down with the new owners to go through the vision. It is not only going to be one of the greatest days in every Newcastle fans life it will also be the biggest gift to the loyalty and class shown by Rafa.

    It’s all done. Believe.

    I think.

    From the BBC website:

They haven’t scored in five games? It would worry me as a Brighton fan going forward. I am not calling for him to be sacked by any stretch of the imagination but going forward I would be thinking where are they going next season as a Brighton fan.

Making changes tonight and putting all the eggs in one basket for the Newcastle game, that is one hell of a risk. We can say the end justifies the means with the tactics against Wolves but they were very lucky. In contrast Cardiff had a real go against Liverpool. Brighton still have work to do and I think it is a risk making all these changes.

Ian Wright having a pop at Hughton for being a negative coach. I’ve never seen him that way, we played some great football under him, with Nolan and Carroll rampant.
