Rafa Could Play Strongest Side At Brighton – Good News On Injuries

It’s unfortunate that Miguel Almiron is out for three weeks with a slight hamstring problem, but that means he will not be available again for us this season.

But he will be able to play for  Paraguay in the Copa America tournament to take place in Brazil from 14th June through 7th July.

And Rafa had some good news today as training started up again for the game at Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

Fabian Schar – back in training

Both Fabian Schar and Isaac Hayden, who were taken off in the second half against Southampton with slight injuries, are back in training today.

The two in-form players will almost certainly start at Brighton in the late Saturday kickoff game since Rafa wants as many points as possible to finish as high up the table as possible.

It also means we get some decent money again from the Premier League if we can finish just below half-way in the league table.

Here are the current standings.

10West Ham38-352
12Crystal Palace38-249

Brighton are in a poor run of form at the moment and haven’t scored a goal in their last seven Premier League games.

They have picked up only a single point with a  0-0 draw at Wolves last Saturday but were beaten last night 1-0 at Tottenham with the goal coming with just two minutes to play.

Let’s hope we can get our 12th win of the season on the south coast on Saturday.

That will equal the number of wins for last season and also the number of points – 44.

Comments welcome.

They’ve been selling tickets in the neutral end and filling it full of toon fans every time, I’m not sure what’s changed now. There was nothing about NE post godes when I bought them a couple of weeks ago. I’m not using Facebook much at all these days but clicked on it today and seen that. They’d refunded my money without even e mailing me, luckily one of the lads I’m meeting in London on the day has bought them instead, otherwise it would have been a £120 train fare down the Swanny.

What happens if your mate in London buys tickets for the neutral zone – is that workable ?
Don’t know what other checks Fulham would make so better to check in advance but hope now that we shaft them and celebrate them going down the very situation that Fulham thought they could avoid.

The Toon have influence over the top two teams.
We’ve beaten Man City 2-1 and a win over Liverpool to deny them the title would be poetic justice handing the title back to Man City who’ve just won against some other Manchester based outfit.
    We are UNITED !

Re read your post so you’ve answered my question.
Are the Fulham ticket office thick or what ?

Aye, that’s what we’ve done, they’re saying that they’re are going to eject anyone showing signs of supporting the away team but I guy who spoke to them at length on the phone said it was the police forcing them to do it so they have to say that, 5K pissed up happy Geordies are going to be a lot easier to manage than 5K angry Geordies roaming the West End.

I honestly would love Liverpool to win it.
They were a class act in 1974 after they beat us 3-0 at Wembley.
I cant understand the hatred towards them .
I found them great ,much the same as we are.

Come on Stan. There’s nothing wrong with the team or the manager but for God’s sake – the fans are absolutely vile.

Anyone got the odds on a 4.3 with Liverpool ?
Be good if the football gods evened things up.
Saying that I would rather Liverpool won it than city .
As for Brighton ,my purely selfish view is its better Brighton go down rather than Fulham .
Reason the more teams we can take points off next season the better .
Brighton will spend and strengthen if they survive and we know they have better facilities and been closer to London will still ( whether we like it or not) help them sign the better players .

Any thoughts about that? Are Liverpool just an honest loveable lot who adore their world famous club or a slack gobbed bunch of persecution complex whingers? I don’t like City but even over here, Liverpool fans go from superiority complex to persecution complex in no time.

In fairness to Liverpool their fans are miles ahead of City in terms of noise loyalty history of support etc. As for people who say Pep isnt much of a manager, really they haven’t a breeze.

From my interactions the city and Liverpool fans are chalk and cheese .
The real city fans who were there in div 3 have been out priced or simply out numbered by the plastic flag waving brigade
Can always tell the current hi flyers here in Aus by the amount of international students in the sports bars on match days ..blue is very much the colour .

one fine day @92 – i think you’ll find that Fulham are already relegated it’s Cardiff and Brighton who are fighting to stay up!
Also I’ve always found Liverpool fans ok – after the cup defeat they were buying all the Geordie fans drinks.

hibbit @99 – I would have thought that most of the players have probably already sorted out a family holiday – trying to fit this in will probably be more of an inconvenience – it’s not like they can’t afford a holiday!

I think the match of the weekend
(apart from ours Sat teatime of course)
will be 14.05 Sunday – Burnley vs Man City
I’m assuming LPool will beat Huddersfield at
    Anfield Friday evening.

Hopefully he is trying to sell NUFC. But I am sure he is trying to get as much money as possible and using all the accountancy tricks in the book to make it look a great deal!

    Lovem or Hatem,
It would sound promising if he had any intentions of selling but I think we all know he has no intentions of it while the TV money keeps going up and up.
