Former Football Great – Rafa A Fantastic Manager – Why He Will Stay At Newcastle

Paul Ince has given his opinion on how Rafa Benitez has performed this season on Tyneside.

Paul seems fairly positive but he says it’s was not difficult for Rafa to keep Newcastle up this season, because Fulham and Huddersfield were well behind the other clubs in the league for such a long time.

So one other club still needs to be relegated – it looks like it will be Cardiff City – or an outside chance that Brighton could even go down.

Paul Ince – former Manchester United great

Paul was speaking  BBC Final Score and has said this about Rafa:

“If he wants to leave Newcastle, where else could he go in the Premier League? That’s the thing I am looking at.”

“I don’t think there are many places he could go, he is a fantastic manager and people say it’s great he has kept Newcastle in the Premier League again this year, but it wasn’t hard.”

“Let me tell you that now, when you have got Fulham and Huddersfield on the lowest points, so you are only talking about one other team.”

“It wasn’t a hard thing for him to do, but I know he is ambitious, I know he wants to compete with the top-six, top-seven.”

“So it is important they do get it bedded down before pre-season starts that’s for sure.”

That’s been brought up before that no other Premier League club has come in strongly for him this year – as far as we know – and it’s the Premier league he wants to manage in.

So that could help us keep Rafa and if he signs it will be a great day for Geordie fans everywhere.

Paul Ince managed six different clubs from 2006 but seems to have retired from football management since 2014.

He was a terrific central midfielder who played 767 first team games with 91 goals.

Accounts for Newcastle United Limited for the year ending 30/06/18 were posted on Companies House yesterday – we made a profit of £20m last year, albeit this is accounting for a huge amount of amortisation (depreciation on non-physical assets) and I’m not sure how much of this is wages and how much of it is transfer fees we’ve already paid.

Also interesting to note that the cashflow statement shows a gain of £33m, which is coincidentally the amount they claim is repayable to a Mr MJW Ashley in the next 12 months.

A total of £385k in sales was made to Sports Direct, and £1.4m of stuff bought from them – our total commercial revenue was just shy of £24m – do I even need to say that the man’s clearly not paying market rate for all that advertising??

On topic , Rafa wont need to jump straight into another job if he does leave, give it about 3 month into next season (probably not even that long) there will be offers for his services coming out of at least 4 clubs in the Premier league Arsenal, Chelski Manure and probably Spurs will be needing replacements, probably PSG and a few others less than a helicopter ride away too.
We need to tie him down asap, the longer it drags on , the less likely (IMHO) it is that he will stay.
I just hope the club are looking at the costs involved and seeing what can be done to keep him, no doubt Rafa has put a substantial business plan forward to prove his reasons behind wanting the upgrades….it’s over to the slug now to make it happen

On line guy; were you taught English in this country or the West Indies? Seen instead of saw is an obvious faux pas but you write with no regard to gramatical corectness.
