Alan Shearer’s View Of Newcastle’s 1-1 Draw At Brighton

Newcastle were simply great in the first half of the game at Brighton, and Ayoze Perez scored another excellent goal for us after 18 minutes.

But then he went off after 32 minutes, and that was probably the turning point of the game.

If Ayoze is out for the final two games against Liverpool and Fulham – that could be bad news for Newcastle.

Brighton came back well in the second half, to their credit, and equalized through Gross after 75 minutes – their first goal in the last eight games.

🙁

Here’s how the Newcastle icon thought about the result.

We should have had that one done and dusted in the first half. They were wide open. After Ayoze went off we had no pointy tip on wor sword. Harrumph!!!

I like Rondon but he’s too slow. No pace and can’t break away from defenders. Nice assist on the goal though.

Kennedy’s homesick , London. He’s been yearning to be back down south all season .

Heart is not in it …he’s got all the tools , he’s just not giving what he is well capable of .

Bye Kidda. Thanks for your efforts last season . Good luck.

A good rub doon with fish and chip papers will see you fine for the next match Ayoze! There’s nothing like a good thick layer of chip fat on an injury to bring it roond lad!

WE are a completely different side without Almiron. Look forward to seeing him blossom next season. He could well become a Gallowgate folk hero.

I’m not a Shelvey fan but, apart from a couple wayward passes, he played alright, given his long absence.

Now, for the hba revenge ?

Spot on OG. He’s right off his feed. Couldn’t hit a barn door with a horse! Tootle flip Kenedy. Better luck elsewhere.

Well spoken West Lancs. We really missed Miggy today. He would have opened them up like a rusty can of tuna!!!

I think we’re seeing the last of Ronny Rondoon as well. He’s been very good for us. Helped save the season.

Who are we going to have at the pointy end next season? We desperately need a pacey striker. Let’s get to work on that Rafa!!!

We have Absolutely no goal threat without Perez. A definite turning point in the game.
Almiron was a big miss today.
    Just pleased we’re safe.

Amazing how without Almiron and Perez we have no threat. Fortunately this hopefully flags up where we need strengthening next season.

Really looking forward to never watching Kenedy play for us again. He’s an actual halfwit.
