In yesterday’s press conference with Rafa for the game this afternoon at Brighton the manager seemed upbeat.
He gave an update on the injury situation and said the Jamaal Lascelles has a stomach ailment and would be rested for today’s game on the south coast.
He also said Miguel Almiron was doing well and has seen a specialist in Sapin.
The 25-year-old has looked an excellent acquisition for us, and his obvious talent, energy, speed, and enthusiasm is there for all to see, and he’s already a firm fan favorite on Tyneside.
This is what manager Rafa Benitez said:
“Miguel’s fine.”
“He went to see a specialist in Spain, started his treatment – and everything’s going to plan.”
“It’s quite positive, and he’s a good professional.”
The caption is “one more day and we continue.”
We look forward to Miguel coming back in great shape for preseason and the tournament in China in July.
The 10 games he has played for Newcastle this year will do him a world of good as he acclimatizes to the Premier League.
He will be ft to play for Paraguay in the Copa America tournament in June.
Miguel’s an excellent player and a smashing lad.
