Rafa’s Clear Message To His Players On His Current Situation

When we were safe with five games to go last season, we managed to lose the next four games before we hammered Chelsea 3-0 at home in the final game of last season.

We secured our safety this season last Sunday with three games still to play, and Rafa does not want any drop off in form, attitude or ambition over the next three games.

We play Brighton away today, Liverpool at home next Saturday and Fulham away n our final game of the season on Sunday, 12th May.

It would be great if we can all three games and finish with five wins on the trot after in our first 10 games we went without a win and only 3 points.

And each of the remaining games is winnable – even against the Reds who may be a little nervous next weekend with being so close to their first ever Premier League title.

Rafa was asked yesterday any players had asked him about his future and this is what he said as reported in the Chronicle today:

“I told them the other day: ‘It doesn’t matter what happens to me or not,.”

“We are professional; we do our job, we have to be focused, train well and give everything.”

“That’s it. They know that it is a question of time.”

“Because you cannot change what is going on. They cannot influence that. They must just train well and be ready.”

“I gave the message the other day to everyone. I wanted to do it because, at this stage of the season, where we are safe, I want people to carry on.”

“That was the conversation I had with the players the other day.”

“I said: ‘Listen, stay focused, keep working hard, forget about this, or that, and try to be sure that you’re professional and do well.”

“There are a lot of people who care about what we do, so we have to try and do well.”

The majority of fans expect we can win this game today – hope so!

I’m on my way to Brighton-god, it’s a long drive. Luckily there’re 3 of us sharing the driving. Let’s not get negative today. We should win this. We’re safe. Rafa is still here. I’m just looking forward to the game, 3 points and a long drive home.

    Been thinking
Such a shame we can’t play Liverpool with miggy and lobby in full flow .actualy think we could give them a scare with the onus on them to get a win

Looking forward to a good performance today. This is a game we should win but we all know it’s not always that easy. No room for sentiment. If we can finish Brighton off and improve our goal difference we should but a draw wouldn’t be a disaster. Nice to be able to approach a game with no nerves and no need to keep an eye on the teams around us.

One fine day I think Longstaff is probably back to full fitness by now but is being given a chance to work in the background on his technique and physique.

It’s noticeable how quiet he is and the club have been over his progress.

I think he’ll come back stronger and better for next season and become a stalwart for the club

Don’t forget the Mike Dean factor
The last time we were away on the
    south coast (Bournemouth last month)
he made some very alarming calls.

“Newcastle have failed to score in all three Premier League meetings against Brighton, losing 0-1 twice and drawing the other game 0-0.”

Time to change that, I hope!

Dream scenario if that’s the case would be Rafa amounted another three years and lobby on the bench for Liverpool ..now that would have the roof lifting on Saturday night with a some very worried scoucers

Bolton apparently have been told they have to play their last two fixtures regardless of who ends up on the pitch, hope they have over 11 spectators for these games.

West Ham are 2 points ahead of us in 11th so we want Spurs to win in the match starting now.

Today my focus is on who cares about anyone else, let’s give Brighton a beating, plain and simple, no taking the foot of the gas.

Sorry Chris but I support Newcastle United and beating your team for me is important, no mater the ties to our club. Howay the Toon!!!

Why is it that CF’s are such good crossers of the ball ?
    Marko Arnautovic’s cross was exquisite
Shearer was the same – could really put a good cross in.

Whenever I think of Shearer’s crossing ability I think of that one he crossed from the right for Les Ferdinand’s header in the 5-0 game v Man Utd in ‘96 !
I think I need to move on; trouble is, I’ve never got over us not winning the league!!
