Fans Implore Mike Ashley To Sign Rafa – Growing Concerns He’ll Leave

We would have expected some stories about clubs being after Rafa Benitez becasue it’s a Sunday.

And it’s also true that Rafa is becoming frustrated there has not been much progress at all made on his contract.

On the broadcast over here on NBC Sports yesterday the commentators said Rafa wants to stay at Newcastle, the fans want him to stay, and the City (council) want him to say; so that doesn’t reflect well on Mike Ashley.

French clubs PSG and Marseilles are the latest clubs said to be interested in signing the 59-year-old Spaniard – and he wouldn’t be too far from home in Paris for example.

So what is Mike Ashley doing about this?

Not much and he’s certainly not saying anything as confusion and anxiety mount with the Newcastle fans that Rafa could walk away.

Mike Ashley – standing in front of St. James’ Park

Here’s some sampling of tweets today as the fans implore Mike Ashley to get the job done and sign Rafa Benitez.

Any news on Ayose’s injury, I got the impression in his interview that it may not be too bad, here’s hoping!

And the late Saturday night KO gives him a few more hours. 🙂

    EGB,
No need to apologise if that’s your opinion but I think it’s unfair and not a very nice accusation, but hey ho.

I think on balance this performance by Man City
versus a tough Burnley side shows they will be
    worthy champions (if it happens)

Jib glass houses old son you are in absolutely no position to talk about lying and talking nonsense you are the blog beacon worldwide for it ? and no the rugby thing was your and Munsters desperate gang up to claw back credibility that just didn’t work. Again. But keep trying, propaganda can work if you repeat it often enough. And jib, for goodness sake – hypocrisy, man! You said Wanyama played for Bournemouth. You, so proud of your assimilation into Spanish life, managed to spout on about ‘Real’ Valllecano (oh yes, three ‘l’s as you are so fond of picking me up about the way round I stated the second row thing as if it was utterly and vitally crucial – you’re welcome, btw) I’m tempted to guess you got a Spanish player mixed up with a track athlete as well but maybe someone else did that. YOU calling ME out? No no no no no. No.

The future of NUFC club depends on the signing of Rafa, with the right backing of course.
But MA only wants survival and he knows SJP will always be full, so it’s a tough one for him.

Interesting that last tweet by geordie down under.

There was an article about Pardew in the Saturday Telegraph, where he feels he has unfinished business in the EPL. Lets not forget that he resigned and was not sacked by Ashlie. So Ashlie wanting Pardew back isn’t an unlikely scenario.

If that’s not a marriage made in Hell as far as Toon fans are concerned then I don’t know what is.

EGB – sorry but there’s really no such thing as blog bullying unless it’s constant and unwarranted abuse singling someone out. What you are getting wrongly offended at is the natural retort and counter post when someone posts something controversial and worthy of rebuke. We all should be prepared to face it when we show our selves publicly in this blog. It’s what it’s here for, it’s not a global peacemaking mission. It’s a debate. It only breaks down when the participants feel the need to get personal and throw insulting profanities and gainsaying rubbish back.

Could be a mistake here, Jib:-

    82 mins
    SUBSTITUTION
    Burnley 0-1 Man City

John Stones is coming on to replace Sergio Aguero. City are shutting the shops.

Agree with your sentiments, “fracking Ashlie” could be a very good source of (un) natural gas.

Tsunki, don’t want to get into a mass debate here, but I think there has arisen a chicken and egg situation, perhaps someone should go back to when the 1st out of order insult was thrown, then we put a lot of the ire and insults to bed.

Although with the close season around the corner I don’t see that happening. 😉

Re the comment above by David Gill (Twitter)

Clubs don’t realise what they have lost until it’s gone!. Wenger, Ferguson and also Mourinho for example. Soon to be Rafa I reckon too.
    (I hope not)

What a lot of fans don’t seem to appreciate is “a good manager” when they have one. Wenger was a prime example he had won countless trophies but because he was ONLY finishing in the top six Arsenal fans rebelled……

What is a hundred percent certain is only one team can win the Premier League! one team can win the FA Cup and one team can win the League Cup (or whatever it’s called now) Does that make the rest failures?

    I think not!

To have any chance in the near future of winning anything at all Newcastle United FC (Mr. Ashley) needs to listen carefully to what our Manager is asking for/recommending – If a new manager comes in it’s back to square one or probably below square one for us!

Just get Rafa signed up and continue with all the good work and progress that he has made in 3 short years.

    Just do it!
