Isaac Hayden’s Difficult Family Situation – In His Own Words

With Isaac Hayden ready to leave Newcastle in the summer for family reasons we thought it may be helpful for fans to rerun the interview he did on March 2nd for the Sun.

In his own words, Isaac talks about how difficult things were before his daughter Adriana was born and how difficult it was for him to play for Newcastle last season.

Isaac makes some excellent points about how important it is to be a real father in life.

We find it very difficult to criticize the 25-year-old wanting to be closer to his fiance Laura and baby daughter.

It’s just that he’s playing so well for Newcastle now since he came into the side last December.

We never thought Isaac could even play as well as he has done over the last five months and he’s been so consistent too.

Isaac Hayden – training in Spain earlier this year

As we’ve said before he is also becoming a leader at Newcastle – both on and off the field.

It looks like fatherhood has done Hayden a world of good – and it certainly makes you grow up very quickly!

This is what Isaac said in The Sun in early March about his situation:

“My daughter’s birth and everything leading up to it was very traumatic, not many people know what it was really like.”

“My fiancée was very, very ill for the whole term of her pregnancy, the whole nine months.”

“She was bed-ridden, couldn’t do anything. She was being sick 20-30 times a day. She had hyperemesis gravidarum, the condition that Kate Middleton had.”

“She was going into hospital to be put on drips. She was in Newcastle at that point, but her family is based in the South West, mine’s in Essex and she really had no support.”

“When Adriana was born in December 2017, she was six weeks premature and then she was in neo-natal care.”

“She had problems with her breathing and temperature control.”

“She was in the Portland Hospital in London. While all that was happening, trying to play football was difficult.”

“She’s doing OK now, but there are still a lot of things, little checks, and stuff, and we like to use the same hospital for her specific needs.”

“I want to be in a place for my daughter to settle down and have a happy home environment and not be moving around too much.”

“Lauren  has done an awful lot for me and given up a lot to have a child.”

“Looking back, I don’t know how she did it. She deserves to be in a position where she’s happy, where’s she’s closer to her family and closer to the hospital.”

“Money isn’t everything. It’s about the time you spend with children, the effort you put in. I want to know her.”

“I don’t want to miss her walking for the first time, talking, all those things. I want to be a proper dad.”

Good for him.

Now is there any way we can do that – and still keep this lad playing for Newcastle United?

🙂

In relation to good buys and bad buys.
Just reviewed the squad. Not too many massive problems.
By problem I mean a Riviere type. On big wages, never plays, total waste of space and can’t get rid.

Aarons – Probs not on massive money. A development player that never made it.
Colback – Does not qualify. At least he is a saleable asset and we will be able to shift him.
Saviet – At least he plays – for somebody. A GC legacy. Will probably be loaned and loaned again until his contract runs down.
Lazaar – Not on massive money so does he qualify ? Probs not. Hopefully we can move him on.

Murphy – Probably the main problem. Will be on decent money and we have a big transfer sum tied up in him.

The top four need to go. Just to tidy things up. If we could get them out for cost neutral that would be a result.
Charnley will probably be stressing about it and confusing the issue. Talking bollocks about player Amortization and what it will do to the books.
It’s simple Lee. They contribute nowt and we need rid.

Sorry but Colback is a problem, we’ve had offers 2 years running and he wont leave due to his high wages and the fact he wants a free transfer with a signing on bonus. so he isn’t a saleable asset unless someone improves or matches his wages, zero chance of that.

I think players like him are a huge problem, fan of the club is he? My arse.

I wonder what the two relegations have cost him in comparison to what he’s made over twelve years and the impact of that free advertising on his main business.

    geordietom,
Should be some atmosphere, try and find a Geordie bar as there’ll be a lot of plastic Lpool fans kicking about, I’ve got tickets in the Milburn stand near the Leazes, normally quietish up there but I think it’ll be bouncing come Saturday night.

Cheeky of the buggers to ask for £4 for the privilege of signing a petition which is in the interests of all. They should be running this anyway, it’ll give them something to actually write about for a change, without trying to make money out of it. Mercenaries!

I’ve still signed it anyway, hopefully it’ll get tens of thousands of signatures and the news will filter through to Rafa. Even if it gets through to the slug, he’ll ignore it, but it will likely mean a lot to wor Gaffa

Rob @108 – Yeah I thought the £4 was a bit of a cheek – I just skipped the rest after I’d signed!
geordietom @97 – Not wanting to split hairs but I thought SDS was an acronym for Small Dick Syndrome (similar to Little Man Syndrome).

    RobLeenio, Martoon

You’re probably being sarcastic in suggesting that Change.org’s asking £4.00 or anything else to sign its petitions. The money its asking for goes towards its running costs.

Change.org isn’t part of Ashley’s empire but when he sees the opportunity of screwing money out of people, it soon will be!

Well done to Gary Wilson in reaching the semi finals of the snooker. A real nice lad , passionate toon fan and a true Geordie. Fully deserved after a great performance.
