Benitez – This Player Deserves All The Credit For His Improvement

Rafa Benitez has talked in the Chronicle today about Ayoze Perez who has scored 12 goals for us this season – all but one of them in the Premier League.

He’s again come away strongly with his goalscoring towards the end of the season, which he also did last year.

Rafa is very clear about why Ayoze has improved – he has worked very hard, and it’s all down to him.

He takes the advice of the coaching staff, and Ayoze knows what he can do well and what he doesn’t do well, where improvement is required.

Ayoze Perez – scored again

It’s evident that if we have Rafa, Perez, Almiron, and Rondon next season that front three partnership could be explosive.

They will only get better playing together.

This is what Benitez has told the Chronicle:

“The credit is all for him.”

“My staff talk with him all the time but he more or less knows what he had to do.”

“It is more a case of telling him in every training session he can do this or that or telling him he’s doing this thing right or this thing wrong.”

“Then we repeat these messages. “In the end, he is the one that is learning a lot and he’s ready to fight.”

“He still knows he can improve part of his game but especially with his relationship with Salomon Rondon and Miguel Almiron.”

“It’s helping him to have more chances and take those chances at the same time.”

“He has been consistent.”

“He was consistent last year and he has scored goals for us.”

“Ayoze is a player that is keen to learn and I am telling him all the time it is about staying consistent.”

“He has given us a lot of things.”

“But the main thing for me is he knows that he can improve and he is keen to learn.”

Of the four men mentioned – Rafa, Perez, Almiron, and Rondon – only Almiron will definitely return for next season – at this point.

From previous RobLeenio, if Rafa or the club announced he wasn’t staying that would be both unprofessional from either side and detrimental to the team for the rest of the season.

We won’t hear anything until mid-June, earliest.

think it will be earlier than that but not till after the last game has been played after that its in the clubs own best interest to get the new man in place as its a very short close season,

Liverpool will be diving all over the place looking for pens … Will the ref be strong enough considering what’s at stake ? Na .

Mane is the worst culprit . They will also be pulling free kicks all over the park and going down if you sneeze near a red shirt.

We will have to score 3 to beat them . Sly pens will be the order of the day.

    Salah , Mane …Cheats .

I would hate to have been a top pro and at careers end look back and know I was a cheat , your only fooling yourself and looked down upon by the public .

3-2 to Newcastle. Heart ruling head.

Welcome back Ed . Take a break if you need one ..we will still be here when you return.

I have love for Rafa but giving him credit for Perez is reaching
Perez was class before Benitez arrived
If anything Benitez’ requirement he play in the number 10 role somewhat stifled his goal scoring abilities
I’m glad he is finally getting the credit he deserves
