Some Good News For Newcastle

There’s some good news this week that Ayoze Perez has been training with the first team squad and it looks like he may available for the home game against Liverpool tomorrow night.

We’ll know better at Rafa’s press conference this afternoon.

Perez picked up a kick on the hip early in the game at Brighton and had to leave the field after 34 minutes: a fit Perez throughout that game may have seen us win – but that’s water under the Tyne Bridge now.

Ayoze Perez – after scoring last week

The medics have monitored Perez all week but it does appear that he has a good chance of making the game tomorrow.

And it was clear the team missed him at Brighton – this is what Rafa said:

“His understanding with Rondon is quite good.”

“We missed him. We were changing because we had a different kind of player when you put another one on.”

He was in form, on fire, and it was a pity when we had a player doing so well, we had to take him out.”

Jamaal Lascelles should return after his stomach illness of last week kept him out of the game.

This could be some game against Liverpool and if we can at our very best we could get a result.

You can hang your hat on Rafa Benitez trying to beat Liverpool

“Benitez has played five games against Liverpool as a manager in England and only lost two.” – were both of those with us?

Whoops…missed the bus (I replied on the previous thread)…..

    No….just like that phrase
    ?

I remember two draws with Liverpool under Rafa…..I think it was 2-2 away at the end of the relegation season and 1-1 last season at st James when Joselu fluked one off his shin (if I remember rightly, that was the game when Amanda Staveley first turned up)….could be wrong of course (no googling involved)
