Fabian Schar has been one of our best players this season, and he will be an important player for us in our final home game tonight when we play second top Liverpool.
Liverpool are a point behind Manchester City with a poorer goal difference, and if City wins their last two games, there’s nothing Liverpool can do about it.
Fabian Schar – an important player for us tonight
They need to win their final two games including the game tonight at Newcastle.
Here’s what Fabian has said about the game tonight:
“We’ll see what happens,”
“We will try to get a result. We’re just looking for our result. We want to get some points.”
“We’ll do everything in this game. We want to win all our games. This is our last home game.”
“This is the only thing we’re looking for – the rest is not in our hands.”
“Clearly it’s going to be a really tough game. We have to be perfect to get something.”
“That’s what we’re looking for.”
“We want to win games. We’ll do everything for a good result.”
Comments welcome.

Comment #1A draw for us tonight vs the scouserpool, Leicester to beat Citeh, and we’re going into the last game with Citeh playing Brighton and Scouserpool playing wolves …..Sly will have an orgasm ,especially if Citeh lose by a couple of goals vs Leicester and the goal difference is level or -1

Comment #2The destiny of this years Premier League Champions is with United, the only United, Newcastle United.
Being the only team to beat City in 20 games that opened the door to Liverpool’s hopes. Let’s close it tonight then we’ve beaten the top two teams to show what can be achieved.

Comment #3I half heard on talksport while driving home some nutter lumping a load of cash on the toon to win 4.3 at huge stupid odds..
Mad.
But hey fate does have a habit of turning up daft things in the category of ‘what goes around comes around.’ …karma, call it what you will.
Ok not 4.3 but it would be super sweet to right the wrongs done to us by Collymore n co, all those years ago.

Comment #4I don’t mind Liverpool, or their fans.
But in football I do bear grudges. Who doesn’t? 🙂
So actually the PL race is win win for me.
When a younger man I worshipped the ground a certain Gallagher brothers’ band strutted on, but the elder was quoted at the time of our relegation gleefully saying something along the lines of ‘…There’s no better sight than fat Geordies crying on Match of the Day..’
I’ve been waiting to see his beloved Manc City have a fall ever since.
Loving it…bring it on.

Comment #6“Mo Diame looks set to leave Newcastle United on a free transfer this summer after Rafa Benitez admitted that the midfielder’s future appears to lie away from Tyneside.
“The Magpies manager confirmed that Diame is unlikely to be named in the United XI for Saturday night’s match against Liverpool on Tyneside, meaning the Senegalese has already started his final game as a Newcastle player at St James’ Park.” (Chronic)

Fair enough for me.
Football makes young men extremely rich and gives them a lifestyle most people can only dream of. Well done to them.
No room for sentiment now though. His powers have been waning for a while and let’s be honest, the 2 year deal he wants is out of the question in the circumstances.
Of course, it means he’s another one we would need to replace, not just leave a hole.

Comment #10I like Schar. He’s a real modern PL footballer. Great skills, not just a hoofer from defensive positions. I think he’s in position A to develop and hone the defensive side of his game (coached by Rafa). Massive bargain!

Comment #13Jail, there’s no point in people like you and Toon22 moaning that Ashley won’t meet rafa. They might at the end. That’s how it works in the real world. It would be better if Ashley and rafa had met and sorted it out fast but that’s not going to happen. In my own nativity I thought that rafa and charnley wud chat and rafa’s legal people would agree the deal but clearly he has them doing the negotiating. I don’t care who chats if he can get the agreement he wants.

Comment #14Sing at 10, agree. I hadn’t known he was one of the top young centre halves a few years ago so we certainly got a gem there. Wud be fascinating to know who rafa has in mind for say a fullback or wingback, at budget levels of 5,10,15,20 mill. Mind you it’s hard to see him having the type of almiron money to get a right back.

Why isn’t there a point? Ashley damn well should meet Rafa. And he should be dong it at regular intervals in the season. It’s called communication.
He could sort out all this crap if he wanted to, it’s by his design that everything is smoke and mirrors. The man is an arrogant, vindictive, untrustworthy rat, and he obviously enjoys the grief he gives everyone.

Catchy cod eye has got two Lpool defenders and Mane as his captain this week, with Sterling or Aguero as options instead, oh and Rondon on his bench. You know who he’s supporting tonight, how the foot can such a dislike of the manager turn you against your team like that??? I need 19 points over two games to beat the footer. Sterling hatrick and Mane sent off for diving. HWTL.

Comment #18If Ashley built relationships with his employees and customers, and sorted things out in a timely fashion, we wouldn’t be in the position of wondering wether we should be trying to set up new signings in the confidence that the manager who wants them will still be here by the time the season starts again in a few months time.

Huddersfield expose deceit of Mike Ashley trying to sell Newcastle United

News from Huddersfield Town that totally exposes the deceit of Mike Ashley attempting to sell Newcastle United.
Mike Ashley claims he has been trying to sell NUFC since September 2008.
The Newcastle fans revolted against Mike Ashley’s disgraceful running of the club, as he and his people lied to Kevin Keegan, attracting him to the club with assurances that he would have full control of who was bought and sold, only for Ashley to also appoint Dennis Wise and secretly give him the final say.
The summer 2008 transfer window saw Keegan come to understand what the harsh reality was and he was left with no alternative but to sue successfully for constructive dismissal, Mike Ashley and his people slated by the tribunal as having deceived both Kevin Keegan and the fans, as well as ordered to pay £2m compensation to the former NUFC manager.
As the Newcastle fans unleashed their anger and demonstrated against him, Mike Ashley came out and made a public statement, saying he had listened to what they were saying and that they could now stop their demonstrations against him, because he was putting the club up for sale and promised to sell it as soon as possible.
Eleven years later and anybody who still believes that Mike Ashley has been trying to seriously sell the club, is a fool.

If Ashley isn’t made that way?
So what if he isn’t? When you are the billionaire business owner you have to have adjust ‘the way you are made’ to the requirements of the situation.
And pointless moaning?
A bit like your pointless moaning (or as you would call it fair and balanced criticism) about Rafa not following your view of tactics, and generally how to run a football team? Come on man, you could apply that to any comment / point made on a blog.

Comment #40Ashley will wait till the negotiations are nearly done then fly up to meet Rafa and ratify the agreement.
Then he’ll fly off to a press release saying after his personal intervention in the process an agreement has been made and Rafa has signed for X years.
Cue much media fawning and glory while those who know, know.
Enough to make you retch, but if it means we get to keep Rafa then I think we’ll have to swallow it up
