Crucial That Suitable Loan Spell Is Found For This Future Star

Elias Sorensen has had a break out season for Newcastle this year, albeit not for the first team. Sorensen has been named as one of nine players for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award.

The Danish Under-21 international has had a fantastic season bagging 20 goals. He was playing so well that the club got him a loan spell to League One side Blackpool.

Rather than propelling the budding star up the ladder to the Newcastle first team, this move ended up knocking him back a few steps.

Whether it was a new atmosphere or something to do with the Blackpool manager Terry McPhillips, we are not too sure.

Elias Sorensen – an emerging young star

But the lack of match time at Bloomfield Road was detrimental to the youngster’s development. So much so that the Newcastle hierarchy terminated young Elias’s loan spell in early March.

This disappointing loan spell cost Sorensen the second half of a crucial year in his development.

The 20-year-old is still quite away from the Newcastle first team squad. This summer Newcastle United must make it a priority to find a loan spell that works for this bright talent.

We have seen far too many sterling youngsters in the Newcastle ranks fade away without ever breaking through.

It would be a shame if Sorensen joins those ranks. We hope the club can find a perfect loan match and maybe we’ll have a quality striker to bang in those goals at St James Park.

I think he was clipped and we got away with one there. Pity it doesn’t happen in the EPL games, decisions always seem to go against us!

You might be right there Essex. It was a bit dodgy. That would have been 2-0. Still not bad to finish runners up to the league and cup double holders.

I didn’t think Sorensen did much. Toure was better by far. Still, both only young lads.

Heard an interesting snippet tonight in an unrelated conversation. Told Mike Ashley has accepted an offer from a buyer who owns an American sports team. The buyer is currently looking for a commercial management person i.e to replace Charnley, and the headhunter he is using was speaking to my contact about another unrelated job. For what it’s worth, and I know no more.

Bolton Wanderers are set to go into administration after the club appeared in the High Court over a £1.2m unpaid tax bill.Administration would result in Wanderers having a 12-point penalty imposed on them next season.
Not a good start to a new season.

Talking of which I wonder what fixtures Sky , sorry I mean the FA will arrange for us next August.
To start probably away to a promoted club so expect

    Norwich v Newcastle
    followed by
    Newcastle v. Wolves
Then away to a top six side say
    Arsenal v Newcastle

Unless the Sky computer says otherwise
