Swansea’s flying Welsh winger Daniel James is attracting interest from Newcastle in the summer.
The other club reportedly interested in the player is Premier League club Bournemouth.
The 21-year-old has been capped twice by Wales and this season has been his breakthrough season in Wales.
He has played 28 times for Swansea this term with 5 goals and 10 assists
James has been Swansea’s best player this season down in the Championship with clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United supposedly interested in the player.
But a source close to the player has said that Newcastle and Bournemouth are the two clubs most anxious to sign the player.
Swansea have no chance of promotion having finished 10th in the league with 65 points and will spend a second season down below and they will have cut their cloth accordingly.
They could be forced to sell their left-winger for financial reasons and he has only one year left on his contract in South Wales.
The player was born in Beverley in Yorkshire, but he qualifies to play for Wales through his father, who was born in Aberdare.
James will cost around £10M and it would seem he is a decent buy for that kind of money.
James plays as a left winger, ut can also play as an attacking midfielder and is known for his pace and skills: he is a talented young player
His boss seems to think he may move this summer – this is what Graham Potter has said:
“No-one can see into the future, as with all of the players. It’s football, it’s part of the industry.”
James is one of the best youngsters outside the Premier League so we will have to wait and see if Newcastle best Bournemouth to his signing.
