Rafa Keen On Massive Potential Of Newcastle – If Only Ashley Was

Rafa Benitez gave some interesting comments in his post-match interviews. They were listed in the Chronicle.

Rafa Benitez with Jonjo Shelvey – “I can see the potential of this massive club.”

By his comments after the big win against Fulham, you can just tell that Rafa loves this club. In true Rafa fashion, his true feelings are kept veiled. But you just know he would love to continue his journey with NUFC.

Some of what his post-match comments were:

“We have one more point than last season but it wasn’t enough to finish 10th. Everything has been positive.”

“Ashley said thank you to the players in the dressing room.  We will have a meeting next week”

“Would I like to stay? I can see the potential of this massive club.”

“If you want to complete against these teams you have to do everything right.”

“Are we close? You never know. If you spend money, you might not stay up.”

“Hopefully we meet next week with Ashley.”

That it’s gotten to this point is a disgrace.  The fans of this club deserve so much better.

Sign up Rafa and give him what he requires to run this football club.

It’s as easy as that.

Mea culpa. Bet against my team for the first time in my life. Serves me right, 8 big ones (ie. Euros) down the drain.

Congratulations to the lads. Excellent display. Proud of yous.

Now, let’s consolidate our place as a competitive mid table, never in danger team next year. A Leicester, or an Everton, if you will.

That isn’t asking for too much.

    Year after? CL, of course.

the 2 youngsters on the bench probably weren’t going to play unless necessary as i guess they will be playing in the U23 play-off at Southampton tomorrow. not as far for them to travel now!

Anyone else feeling a bit down? Yep, great away win, 4 great goals, but I can’t get excited. Too many doubts in my head, too many loose ends and no more proper games until August.

The blog’s gonna be fun during the summer break, it’s amazing that Ed and Neil find 4-6 things to talk about every day.

Someone else said earlier, (think it was Dubai, apologies if not) about finding it hard to get excited, I’m the same, it just feels like there’s a huge dark cloud over us with this contract situation… I’ll get excited if Rafa signs… Hopefully

    Dubai

We have gone through this heartache every year with unknown certainty of what lies ahead in the coming summer months, Yet now we have the added pressure of whether Rafa Benitez leaves us.

We have to remember Ashley doesn’t give a shite about the club like a fan does as he only see’s it as a business model to make money. That he has done but to what end do we really sit now as a PL club.As Rafa politely put it himself “He doesn’t want to be here to just fight another season of relegation again. And go into games thinking a draw is a good result when a win should be achievable”

You are right in saying there are many loose ends to tie up but will Ashley really be the man to throw money at the club which Rafa asks for???? I doubt that very much

Fulham will give it all before bowing out of the league and we have nothing to play for.

Rafa said he would talk contracts once were safe
MA decided to go on holiday instead
Rafa has said what he wants to sign a contract
    MA response has been silence

Its not like this all happened today, its a slow motion car crash

If MA had any intention of giving Rafa anythink like what he has asked for it would ave been easy to commit to some of it ages ago.Like the improvements to facilities

    MA isnt interested

More likely Jihadi John joins the club.
Total disrespect if he stays. 12 million might keep him here a year but at what cost to his credibility? Even Pep might sniff around for 12 million, but its cheaper than 2 million and 80 million on players.
    Scam
