The Stats Of The Season – League Position, Goalscorers – Comparison To Last Year

It was really fabulous that Newcastle finished the season with a good win and an excellent performance yesterday.

It was our best win of the season – 4-0 at Fulham – and even though they are a relegated side – they had won three of their previous four games.

We controlled the game throughout and the fans could see that in spite of Mike Ashley, Rafa is making progress with the side.

But it could be a lot faster if he was given some decent transfer funds and more moral support from the owner.

It was another fight against relegation this season, and that has to be the last time we are fighting relegation with Rafa Benitez as the manager.

He deserves so much better.

The man himself – Rafa Benitez

We finished in 13th place but on 45 points, one more point than last season.

We are very close to how we ended up last season, and we got one point more and finished three places lower than we did last May.

And for the goals we scored are indebted to Ayoze Perez and on-loan striker Salomon Rondon, and new defender Fabian Schar chipped in with four great goals.

Perez, Rondon, and Schar have been outstanding plat=yres Newcastle this season.

We are hoping Mike Ashley will come out of his shell this week and have positive negotiations with Rafa and his people.

We don’t want this to become any more of a circus and an embarrassment than it already is.

We expect Rafa to be signed up before the weekend.

Mike Ashley has to start doing his job at Newcastle and maybe turn up now and again in the City.

Is funny in about seven days the headlines will read. The Week that was?

Good news I guess, Ashley is back from the states, hopefully that means this week we will have our answers.

Or as I said, The Week that was? headline.

Fabian Schar has played in 24 Premier League games this season and Newcastle have won 12 and drawn 5 of them, picking up 41 points.
In his absence the team have won none of the 14 games, only picking up four from a possible 42 points.

Tiemoue Bakayoko is our next rumoured buy… They’re saying £40m for the 24 year old, but I reckon £25m is nearer the mark.
