Rafa And Newcastle Move Quickly To Sign Winger At Cut-Price Fee

Yannick Bolasie was signed by Everton from Crystal Palace back in 2016 for a reported transfer fee of £25M, but he has not been a success at Everton.

It was another waste of money by the high-spending Everton club who were managed by Dutchman Ronald Koeman at the time.

He spent the first half of last season on loan at Aston Villa in the Championship through to January of this year and then played at Anderlecht on loan for the remainder of this season.

He played 21 times with 2 goals for Villa and 7 times in the Juniper League for Anderlecht with 4 goals and an assist.

The Mail are reporting that Everton are prepared to sell their winger this summer and Newcastle are interested.

The 34 times capped DR Congo International winger is available for £7M, and Rafa Benitez is said to be interested in the winger.

Both Newcastle and Southampton have reportedly opened talks to sign the 6ft 1ins tall winger who has loads of skills – but doesn’t always use those skills effectively in matches.

Yannick Bolasie challenges Newcastle’s Ben Arfa while playing for Crystal Palace

But that’s where Rafa comes in, and we all know Yannick is a class player, and surely he will improve under the expert guidance of Rafa Benitez at Newcastle.

But he turns 30 later this month, so maybe owner Mike Ashley will block a move for this player too?

We hope not – but it really depends on whether it’s true that Rafa really wants Bolasie.

He’s had a tough time of it at Everton mainly due to picking up lots of injuries – but that’s another area where Rafa and his team are the experts – and the injuries at Newcastle have dropped dramatically over the last three years.

Most of today’s papers have a pice in about Newcastle and Bolasie, and he’s the type of player Geordie fans love to see, and he will get a lot of encouragement at St. James’ Park.

The news is that Rafa wants to work with the players and believes he can bring the best out of him on Tyneside.

We wouldn’t bet against Rafa on that.

What do you think?

Can’t see this one happening – surely Villa will want first refusal, then there’s the idiom about old dogs and new tricks, then there’s his age.

I’d rather see us spend double the money on a better prospect.

This is such a deliberately misleading post.
