Nervous Fans On Tenterhooks – Sleep Deprived – Here’s What’s On Their Minds

This is a really critical time for Newcastle fans and the Newcastle United club.

There is some fear that Mike Ashley’s intransigence, stubbornness, and thriftiness may prevent him from being able to sign world-class manager Rafa Benitez to at least another three-year stay at the club.

However, the was a report out yesterday that we covered that looked positive if the news was accurate, so there’s definitely hope.

While the talks continue Newcastle fans are on tenterhooks, and we take the temperature today of how the fans are feeling about all of this.

As usual, it’s tough to support Newcastle, but if we can get Rafa to stay at the club for at least another three years, there are almost certainly much better days lie ahead for this great club on Tyneside.

Typical Newcastle fan right now – trying to look cool – with an impressive full smile
Not worried about anything at all – life is good
NOT!
🙂

At this moment Rafa Benitez is Newcastle and Newcastle is Rafa Benitez.

Where’s that announcement about Rafa’s signing for Newcastle on the official website?

Here are some comments from our loyal fans today and the facts are – we really don’t know what’s happening – but we’d sure like to find out!

We also want Sunderland back in the Premier League …..

I remember when Rafa and Ashley had discussions and agreed to stay when we won the championship, Downie was bigging it up that rafa is going to have 70-75m to spend manybe more.

glimps – previous post. How are we so different to Man Citeh? We have an owner who is “basically a country” – or something like that. Maybe I misheard?

If we are to believe Keith Downie about the potential shopping list for Rafa, these would be my choices:

RWB – Valentin Rosier (Dijon) – £8 mil

LWB – Blas Riveros (FC Basel) – £7-8mil

    DMC – Philip Billing (Huddersfield) – £15mil
    or
DMC – Tomas Soucek (Slavia Prague) – £10mil

    MC – Dani Ceballos (Madrid) – £20mil

    AMR/FW – Jarrod Bowen – £15-20mil

    Max total cost – £71mil

Hopefully Rafa signs and then a quick number of transfers. I think all my suggested transfers are possible.

Am I jealous when I say Man City is a club with no soul? They are breaking every ffp rule in the book. There is no way their revenues come from genuine deals! They need to banned from European competition next year; PSG are the same. Arsenal and Spurs built new stadiums and it hindered their achievements. Man City have an open cheque book! Level playing field; that’s what we want!
Of course we have the only owner who takes revenues out! Lol

    FA should handicap teams.

Make Citeh players wear weighted belts and boots to slow them down or force their players to eat 5 pies before every game.

Aye, Ashes series in Oz is one of my dreams too. Watching Swan and Co, the ‘sprinkler’ series, beat them down under would have been an amazing trip!
Thought we were on for 400 earlier, but there’s been a clatter of wickets..

just hoping Fat Ash gets his arse in gear . gets Rafa’s new contract sorted this week. and a decent amount of transfer funds. get another Almiron type player in . 2 decent full backs with pace ( who can defend ). another centre forward to play along side Rondon if we sign him . a ball playing midfielder ( or 2 ) . and last but not least a goalkeeper in the Dubravka mould . then i think we should have a decent season not sitting near the bottom of the league . my thoughts on this slow sunday …
