There is a report in Inside Futbol that Besiktas have received a bid from an unknown team for their Turkish midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz. Tokoz was linked to Newcastle earlier this month by Turkish sources
Dorukhan Tokoz -Bid recieved for Newcastle linked player
The report says that a bid of €7M has been lodged for Tokoz who just joined the Besiktas this summer for a very low fee of €130K.
So if this report has any authenticity, Besiktas could make a massive profit on the young player.
Tokoz is a defensive midfielder by trade and would most likely be a replacement for Isaac Hayden if he were to leave.
He has made 25 appearances this season in all competitions but didn’t make his debut in the league until early November.
However after breaking into the side, he has been omnipresent for the club starting 21 of the team’s last 23 games while only missing one of those through suspension.
West Ham have also been heavily linked with the player throughout the spring. It seems to us that we are often linked with players at the same time as the East London club.
It must be the United in the name.
The player does look to have picked up an injury yesterday in Besiktas’s game at Trabzonspor. However, it does not appear to be serious.
Tokoz is a player who has improved significantly since stepping up to the top level of Turkish Football. He made his first full international appearance in March and is a player on the rise.
He has two years remaining on his contract and will turn twenty-three years old on Tuesday.
We like the look of this player and hope Newcastle are truly interested.
