Italian Report – Rafa Agrees To Stay At Newcastle – Club Back Him In Transfer Market

Calciomercato are reporting today that Rafa Benitez has agreed to stay at Newcastle United, with the club willing to back him in the transfer market.

They quote the news from ‘Tuttosport,’ that the former Napoli manager has made a deal with Newcastle to stay on board and take the club forward and back into Europe.

The report says that the English club are now willing to make essential investments in line with the significant ambitions of the Spanish coach.

It seems the aim now of both parties is to have Newcastle back competing in Europe once again as we used to do regularly when Sir Bobby Robson and Kevin Keegan were the managers.

But caution as always – this is only a report, and nothing is certain until any agreement reached is announced on the Newcastle United website.

Report – Rafa Benitez has agreed to stay at Newcastle

But this could be the great news, and it’s certainly better than a report that says he’s walking away from Newcastle.

If there has indeed been an agreement, we would expect Newcastle to post the news quickly – if only the basics that Rafa has agreed to stay at Newcastle for whatever the length of his new contract is.

Here’s the basic report in Calciomercato:

“THE SPANISH COACH WILL HAVE AN ADEQUATE BUDGET IN THE MARKET TO RETURN TO EUROPE WITH THE BRITISH”

“According to what was revealed by ‘Tuttosport’, the former Napoli technician would have found an agreement with the Newcastle property regarding the summer market planning.”

“The British in fact seem willing to make important investments in line with the ambitions of the coach.”

“The will of both parties would be to bring the club back to Europe.”

Comments welcome.

You wonder how the links have come from Italy though?

Could it be that someone like Roma has been waiting on an answer and hes told them thanks but no thanks I AM STAYING AT THE TOON!!!?!?

Strangely it was the ASRoma’s website that broke the news
that Rafa wasn’t going to invoke his relegation clause in his
    contract 3 years ago.

    Jail

C’mon Jail, spill the beans and let’s know who else is going to Catalonia, who else’ll be at the European society bash of the season?

It’ll be some party we know, because your good pal Signor Jib doesn’t do things in half measures especially when he’s hosting at Casa Pendejadas.

I followed the Oak Island series for about three seasons but gave up in the end as they just keep going around in circles.

I reckon the treasure is in fact the series and that’s where they are making their money from, I strongly doubt that there is buried treasure and there probably never was.

I believe that BobbyBee is a fan.

Leah it was me that said he was going to Catalunya, not Jib.

You’re jumping on a bandwagon which you appear to not understand. Such a shame you let your eagerness to have a pop at certain posters overwhelm your good reason.

Jail is not always in the right, you know.

Tsunki I fully expect that Toon22 might be with us for a long time yet.

I do hope if Rafa proves to be prepared to work with Ashley that he might tone it down a tad and talk football a little more.

    Time will tell I guess.

    Anyone remember Portuguese international midfielder
João Mário playing for West Ham for the second half
of last season on loan from Inter Milan ?
Well IM paid Benfica £45M for him and Rafa is being
    offered him for £17M.

Hey everyone, I’ve been a follower of this blog for years but hadn’t ever made an account until now. Don’t know how often I’ll be on here but I think it’s about time I started contributing in some way.

Jib, on João Mário, if that were true I would be happy with that signing. Thought he did okay at West Ham in a time when everyone was struggling. Would certainly add some attacking threat from midfield and with his time in the league already would hopefully be able to hit the ground running. I’d be dubious about the fee and what I imagine would be quite high wages given his time at Inter unfortunately.
