Italian Report – Rafa Agrees To Stay At Newcastle – Club Back Him In Transfer Market

Calciomercato are reporting today that Rafa Benitez has agreed to stay at Newcastle United, with the club willing to back him in the transfer market.

They quote the news from ‘Tuttosport,’ that the former Napoli manager has made a deal with Newcastle to stay on board and take the club forward and back into Europe.

The report says that the English club are now willing to make essential investments in line with the significant ambitions of the Spanish coach.

It seems the aim now of both parties is to have Newcastle back competing in Europe once again as we used to do regularly when Sir Bobby Robson and Kevin Keegan were the managers.

But caution as always – this is only a report, and nothing is certain until any agreement reached is announced on the Newcastle United website.

Report – Rafa Benitez has agreed to stay at Newcastle

But this could be the great news, and it’s certainly better than a report that says he’s walking away from Newcastle.

If there has indeed been an agreement, we would expect Newcastle to post the news quickly – if only the basics that Rafa has agreed to stay at Newcastle for whatever the length of his new contract is.

Here’s the basic report in Calciomercato:

“THE SPANISH COACH WILL HAVE AN ADEQUATE BUDGET IN THE MARKET TO RETURN TO EUROPE WITH THE BRITISH”

“According to what was revealed by ‘Tuttosport’, the former Napoli technician would have found an agreement with the Newcastle property regarding the summer market planning.”

“The British in fact seem willing to make important investments in line with the ambitions of the coach.”

“The will of both parties would be to bring the club back to Europe.”

Comments welcome.

I don’t think it does but there is a tab where you can see all the posts you tweet or replies to other.

I don’t have a twitter to confirm if that’s true or not, just going by what I can gather from looking at others.

Speaking of 8 year contracts… if I’m not mistaken, this upcoming season would be Alan Pardew’s last of his 8 year deal.

Bill, there was definitely treasure there. No question about it and its not even hidden in the history.
A former slave bought one acre of land, which he farmed cabbages on. He won his freedom by fighting for the Brits in the war of independence, so he wasn’t rich.
As time passed by, he bought most of one side of the island. Everything he bought, from land to supplies, he paid for with gold and silver.
Stands to reason he found that gold and silver because cabbage farming on a tiny scale doesn’t pay that well.
The only real question is ‘did he find it all’? I would take that clown with the metal detector – ‘expert’; really? – and get him covering all the land that old slave owned. If you find the odd gold or silver coin, case closed.
I watch it because I read the same Reader’s Digest article they did when it first came out. At the time I thought – being young and adventurous – I’d love to go out there and search for that. As you do. Now 50 years later, they are. 🙂
Their new venture searching for civil war lost treasure has more chance I reckon. I never once claimed to have grown up after all. 🙂

    Jib,
A rolling contact would benefit nobody but Mike Ashley, Rafa simply wouldn’t be able to build or progress the team and all it would do is ensure that Mike Ashley gained each years PL dosh while running everything on a shoestring bar the managers salary. Rafa would not go for this imo as everyone would soon get sick of the relegation battles and we all know who cops it first when the football is shite.

    Alright lads and lasses,

A bit of info for you. Take it or leave it but a friend I work with is really good friends with the Longstaff family and they were speaking over the weekend.

Supposedly, Sean has said he is flattered by Man Utd rumours but will stay at Newcastle for a few years at least.

PS, he was a Manchester United fan when he was a boy. We will see in the future.

When one of your top players can’t play in a final because of all the countries in Europe, the biggest backhander came from one at war with it neighbour.
If it was us, I would fully support my club if they refused to play the game. If his safety can’t be guaranteed, why should we field a weakened side because they’re so stupid – or corrupt?
I’m all for sharing the competition around. This simply to do with Arsenal having to leave a player behind because he’s not safe.
Anybody agree? With what’s at stake – CL place – politics shouldn’t prevent you giving yourself the best chance possible.

The only hope I have that Rafa is going to sign is the fact Rondon hasn’t spoken to another PL team. (As far as I am aware or the press)

In this day, a player who will probably be looking at his last real payday contract (4 or 5 year) to be happy to wait until a manager sorts his contract out, other PL teams wanting him !

    Rondon knows…..

He would not risk said PL teams moving to other targets and he missing out.

    In my opinion
