Newcastle have announced four pre-season friendly fixtures.
Newcastle will play two games in the Premier League Asia Trophy in China this July and will have games on Wednesday, July 17th and another game three days later on 20th July.
Newcastle will then take on Hibernian away and AS Saint-Etienne at home to complete the preseason, which is in preparation for a crucial Premier League campaign coming up next season.
Newcastle will travel to Easter Road to face Scottish Premiership club Hibernian on Tuesday, 30th July (7.45pm kick-off).
Lee Charnley – Managing Director
And then we will play Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne at St. James’ Park on Saturday, 3rd August (3pm kick-off).
The Premier League kicks off on the following Saturday.
Here are the four fixtures arranged so far:
- Wednesday, 17th July – Wolverhampton Wanderers (Premier League Asia Trophy, Nanjing Olympic Sports Centre, 6pm kick-off [local time])
- Saturday, 20th July – Manchester City/West Ham United (Premier League Asia Trophy, Hongkou Stadium, kick-off – TBD)
- Tuesday, 30th July – Hibernian (Easter Road, 7.45pm kick-off)
- Saturday, 3rd August – AS Saint-Etienne (St. James’ Park, 3pm kick-off)
We will have to wait and see who the manager is when our players report for preseason on Thursday, July 4th.
Hopefully, it will have been sorted out by then.
We are hoping it will be sorted out within days – but maybe not?
