Newcastle Should Go For Starlet With Magpie Ties

Max Aarons made 41 straight starts for Norwich City after breaking into their first team side in September. He has only just turned 19 this January.

Max Aarons– excellent for Norwich this season

Max is the cousin of current Newcastle player Rolando Aarons, whose injury problems has blighted his once massive potential.

The Canaries will want to keep hold of their young starlet and are keen to offer Max a new contract.

However, the big clubs appear to be circling around the youngster as he is being linked with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham.

Our former goalkeeper and current Norwich City player Tim Krul is calling on the youngster to stay at Carrow Road and spurn any interest from the big clubs.

Tim’s reasoning is that he would get little playing time at the big clubs. However, Newcastle could be a different scenario for the talented Aarons.

He would be an excellent acquistion depending on the transfer fee. With Newcastle needing to strengthen both full-back postions, we feel Aarons could fit the bill.

    Sign him up!

When Rolando leaves, I can then still justify keeping my name on here.

Newcastle almost need to be signing guys like him before they have their breakthrough season in the championship so they are either coming through our academy or having their breakthrough out on loan and coming back to our club the following season!

Norwich get big money for their players so I can’t see this happening !

Anyone wonder if Rolando or Murphy might get another chance next season?

Just thinking with homegrown rules we need to try and keep some players in the squad to satisfy the criteria

    @Beermonkey

Yeah the premier league has homegrown rules as well can’t remember the exact number but if we get rid of Gayle , Shelvey, Elliot and Hayden I imagine we would start to struggle to comply with the rules ?!

The FA also want to change the amount of players again to include more homegrown in the future post brexit so it really does make sense to sort out our academy as soon as possible!

Lascalles and Darlow for 8 million was actually a great deal in hindsight!

Never understood how we never pursued more domestic talent there is ones that go for reasonable prices that we have missed out on that didn’t exactly go to big clubs (Redmond, Gray , Maguire etc all were at the likes of Norwich, Sheffield United before they got their last big moves)

Maybe Carr didn’t have the contacts at the time

Think 8 of the 25 has to be considered homegrown, or spent at least 3 years at the club before turning 21. I’m sure someone will correct me.

    Woodman
    Darlow
    Elliott (will be leaving)
    Dummett
    Ritchie
    Lascelles
    Clark
    Longstaff
    Shelvey
    Hayden (likely leave)
    Murphy
    Gayle

That’s who I can recall that would be classed as homegrown.

there have been lots of players
will hughes was only 8 mill in the end

for me this is one of the reasons rafa is so important and the upgrades to the youth academy and scouting

At the moment you have to have 8 out of 23 players homegrown
FA and Southgate want it to go up to 12
Plus if you leave Europe without a deal Premiership teams will not be allowed to buy players with the likes of Perez as they won’t have represented their Country.
Happened in the 70s with cricket when each team could only have 2 overseas players playing per County.
Problem was home grown players weren’t good enough yet amassed runs and wickets playing in the County circuit but soon as they played for England they were out of their depth as the International game had moved on
Could easy happen with football in this Country if we have too small a number of foreign players playing in this Country who seem to be more gifted and bring on our home grown players

The talks about Isaac Hayden’s future started straight after our last match of the season
Fulham hoping to make him part of their fight back to the PL
NUFC have valued him at £15m and with Joe Brian valued at £6m some trading could be on the cards

Beginning to get a bit concerned now. If rafa goes let’s hope we get a manager who can develop youth because if that’s what the owner wants, we might aswell get a manager he wants. Ie not a Pearson, moyes etc. That said moyes did OK with West ham at the end and was getting good plaudits from motd for high energy football etc

Seen a lot of Norwich this season and this lad has a great future ahead of him and would be a very good signing. Norwich would certainly command a big fee for him.

But I think he’s good enough already to be our 1st choice right back or right wing back.

Jamal Lewis the Norwich left back/ wing back is also a very good young player.

Was hoping for Rafa news today to start the weekend nicely, looks like it’ll drag on.

What is so difficult to reach an agreement over, surely our business genius owner can see that we’re not going to go bankrupt by giving Rafa what he wants and on the contrary the value of the club can only increase with Rafa doing it his way.

    Yes,
Let’s get a manager that renowned football expert Mike Ashley wants as opposed to one that wants to win things and compete, excellent idea.

If we need more home grown players, do people have realistic suggestions of players that could be bought by NUFC – mine would be:

    Jarrod Bowen – AMR/FW
    Ollie Watkins – AMR/FW
    Joe Bryan – LB
    Rico Henry – LB
    Che Adams – ST
    Bradley Dack – AMC/MC
    Ronaldo Viera – MC

I actually don’t think Moyes would take the job hes seen it go horribly wrong at West Ham when their fans actually did something(unlike our fans who take the shafting time and time again) !! Not sure he would want to take another similar job which lets face it is going to be a poison chalice if Rafa leaves this summer !!
