The Sun are reporting today that Newcastle are interested in signing Den Haag defender Wilfried Kanon.
The 26-year-old plays in central defense and has been capped 21 times by the Ivory Coast and has been outstanding last season.
He stands 6ft 2ins tall, and he could be a bargain buy, with Den Haag are resigned to losing the defender if a club comes in and matches their release clause of £3M for the defender.
But if it’s one area that Newcastle are well stocked – it’s in central defense.

But there is always room for improvement.
Kanon has had a terrific season in the Eredivisie, and there are lots of clubs after him from England, Germany, and Spain.
The only way we can see a deal like this happening is if Newcastle sell Ciaran Clark this summer and we could easily get £5M for Clark.
So it might be worthwhile for Newcastle to pursue the Ivory Coast defender, but only if Rafa thinks he can challenge for a first-team place at Newcastle.
His contract lasts another three years, and he has been at ADO Den Haag since 2013 when he was signed from Romanian club Corona Brasov.
Leicester City and Southampton are two of the Premier League clubs said to be interested in the player.
