Newcastle United Tweet Support For Former Player

Newcastle United’s official Twitter account has given a bit of a subtle poke to our local rivals today. They, of course, have done so with a bit of class as well.

Lee Bowyer– when playing for Newcastle United

Newcastle United have tweeted out congratulations to our former midfielder Lee Bowyer after he has guided Charlton to the Championship with a thrilling win today at Wembley over Sunderland.

This is a tremendous accomplishment for Lee who only became the permanent manager in September and is actually out of contract with the club this summer.

We’re pretty certain Charlton Athletic will be eager to sign Lee to another contract after this great success.

Bowyer played for the Magpies from 2003 to 2006 and made 107 appearances for the club. While he may mostly be remembered for that unfortunate incident, we remember him as a player of determination and passion who was a quality midfielder on his day.

Lee seems to have been able to channel his fire and use it to inspire his players. We hope to see him do well in what looks to be a bright future as a manager.

Well done to Lee and Charlton Athletic.

Average – what was the cost – how was it priced – length of use – mileage.

Expect a “we wish Rafa all the best but unfortunately the sale process and the uncertainty that goes along with that prolonged the time needed to conclude a deal and we unfortunately ran out of it”

    Best regards,

Pinch of salt required for this story….rather coincidental that the mackems lose the play off and then we suddenly get sold the same day????…this could be true… but it could be just the case that its a daft story grew out of something like someone saying “the only thing better then the mackems gettin beat would be us gettin bought by a mega rich arab royal family member”…it sounds daft, but has as much chance of being that as anything we’ve heard over the last few years

This potential buyer was mentioned to me specifically by name probably around six months ago in an email from another poster on this site.

I know that poster also told a third poster on this site at that time also, so he will also back this up.

No names as I don’t want to ‘out’ anyone prematurely.

However, I’m very excited right now, whilst maintaining a healthy degree of scepticism.

If any poster wants to claim credit as in the know, I’ll back them to the hilt as otherwise it would go down as a million to one shot.

Let’s see how it plays out in the next couple of days.

    Mr Tuff

No upfront costs. €40 (£34) for initial tag which included deposit and various admin charges, charged by DD a month after initial purchase of the tag (don’t pay until end of May in my case) then a monthly DD thereafter for what you’ve used within the month. As we only have a weeks holiday towards the end of May that will be billed end of June. We’ve gone through 4 tolls from Calais to Normandy so not sure if the cost of that until I get the bill.

Was brilliant. Some tolls let you drive up at 30kph (usually the far left ones) and it beeps then your away. Even the ones where you had to stop are much quicker than cars/cash payment.

    Definitely worth the money mate

Yeah Rob I heard something similar but to be honest can’t remember the name of the buyer, as time went on almost gave up hope. Keep thinking it might just happen, but never know

What a story to open up the net on after just getting home from Wembley and watching and celebrating a Charlton win and promotion with the family of Charlton fans and former players/coach/manager and now director. I’m knackered and ready to sleep but just can’t now, hope it’s not a let down

Average – cheers thanks for that. Going to the Loire Valley for a fortnight in August. Just been booking some TGV tickets from Tours to Paris. Distance is about 240 k. Worked out about £14 each was about 206 euros for 7 of us.
Quite cheap – subsidised railway of course.

G2 = everbody is looking forward to going on the TGV for a day trip to Paris. Takes about an hour and 5 mins to cover the 240k trip. Cruising speed must be in the region of 200kph. Bit faster than what we have here.
