Fans Daring To Believe Newcastle Have Been Sold To A Billionaire Sheikh

It looks like Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan is indeed buying the club because it’s been reported by all the major news outlets like Reuters etc and when that happens it’s usually true.

But fans are likely still to be skeptical but a majority are starting to feel this may be what we’ve been waiting for 12 years after the pain and the woeful ownership of Mike Ashley.

Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

Once it is publicized and talked about by the Sheikh himself we can all let go and celebrate.

The paperwork has been submitted to the Premer League.

Assuming the news is true, does anyone know how long it takes for the league to complete its due diligence? Rafa on a new long term contract and transfer funds to spend….. what a summer this could be!

I would like this to be true. It does seem a bit different from previous fakeovers as the first tweeter stated.

I would like it, though, if they didn’t just hoy loads of cash into the playing squad owa one season. Obviously we do need to strengthen but we still have the core of a decent team currently. We don’t want to be bedding 7 first team marquee signings in to the group (although maybe we do).

Get the stadium at least renovated. Update the training facilities. Ditch the wheelie bin ice baths and build the best academy. Invest in the city. Trust in Rafa.

So no comment from the club and agent Micky using his contacts gets a virtual no comment also from the sheikh.

That’s a suspicious pair of no comments for sure…

I thought Rafa meeting Ashley in that posh London hotel was a little extravagant and flash. Ashley for all his faults is not showy like that.

If Rafa was actually meeting an Arab sheikh, however…

Algeria and former Newcastle midfielder Mehdi Abeid, 26, wants to return to the Premier League this summer rather than sign a new deal with French side Dijon. (L’Equipe – in French)

The lads not daft. He must have heard about the takeover and wants back.

Maybe Hayden could be persuaded to stay with his family moved up here to the leafy suburbs of Darras Hall or Northumberland.

The Sheilk’s middle name or part of it is Al ( maybe he’s an Alan Shearer fan ) – could be a good sign

You told me and bambams this was possible months ago. Fair play matey, it may have taken a while but credit where it’s due.

The headdress is called a ghutrah or kufiya (depends on where you are, in UAE it’s ghutrah). You can get them in black and white check too – although red/white is more common.

So if this happens I think it’s only fair that OLG reveals his source from last years takeover, it’s obviously not from Ashleys side as he knew nothing about this reported deal, then it can only meanthat he knew someone involved with the supposed buyer and that’s where he was getting his info.
