For Once Newcastle Have Not Denied They Have Been Sold

The news that Newcastle United had been sold broke last night and that Billionaire Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan was the buyer.

His net worth is estimated at £17B and his family is worth $1 trillion.

Hey – we should be able to get some decent players with that!!

Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nehayan

Lee Ryder of the Chronicle has been tracking down a response from the club and so far it’s a no comment.

The Premier League are also not commenting that contracts have already been signed and submitted to the Premier League for their approval.

We know fans will still be skeptical of this after all the heartaches and let-downs we have had under Mike Ashley but this seems too far along for it to be false.

We will know today because if it’s true we expect the Sheikh to say something.

Something like:

Howay The Lads!!

🙂

I’m driving soon but will be stopping every 15 mins for updates! Has Sky said anything. The silence elsewhere is worrying but this is how clubs are bought as I said before. Just one announcement, no rumour etc. Praying…

    GeordieMark

I have no sympathy for them at all, love the banter but they take it to hatred.

When I saw the video burning our shirt I just wanted them to get demolished by Charlton – but a win is a win.

As for finances – I think they are up a certain creek ! Unlike us eh (hopefully)

“Never mind 6 in a row
Never mind 6 in a rowwww
    You lost the final
    With 6 seconds to go”

Saw this on Twitter, had to share it 🙂

Oh please let this takeover be true !!!!!!

This summer now has an opportunity to go one of two ways

1 – The deal talks are false, Ashley issues a statement over the next day or two saying the Arabs have no money. Rafa cant agree a contract as his demands are too much for poor old Mr Sports Direct. Tony Pulis or Mark Hughes come in, get a couple of loan signings through the door, maybe throw Peter Crouch a premier league lifeline, Longstaff, Shelvey, Hayden, Rondon, Schar, Perez all leave and there wasn’t enough time to get new signings over the line.

2 – Sheikh Khalid is the real deal, no messing about and he takes over straight away, gives Rafa a 5 year contract for the new ‘project’ (Rafa has seemed to say this a lot lately). Makes a statement by tying longstaff to a long term deal, Rafa has full control over who stays and who goes. Shelvey goes for top dollar. In come the marquee signing of Gareth Bale, Thiago Maia, Wilf Zaha and then a few 10m+ players to enhance what we already have. . . . . . Carlsberg don’t make football teams, but if they did.
Right now, absolutely god (allah) knows what will happen. It is the same old story being spun out and until there is some real source info, it’s hard to believe

Please, please, please, please, please let this be true

So long we have suffered from a tyrant, and the fact it’s the cousin of the Man City owners he will want to compete with them.

Good things come to those who wait, we’ve waited 12 years!
