If Sheikh Buys Newcastle Our Commercial Revenue Will Soar

When you look at the last financial results most of our revenue was from the Premier League TV rights payout.

We have struggled for years under Mike Ashley to grow our commercial revenue but now that we will be backed by a Billionaire – assuming today’s; news is true that commercial revenue will start to soar.

We made around £28M in commercial revenue over each of the last two years which is pitiful.

The top six clubs make a lot more than 10 times that – so that’s an area the new owner will fix.

Mike Ashley – Sports Direct owner

One thing we’d love to see is each and every one of the Sports Direct posters taken down and we hope the Sheikh has not made any deals with Ashley to keep the Sports Direct sign up at St. James’ Park.

This is what we did over the last financial year.

It’s also likely the matchday revenues will increase but that’s due to increases in the admission price.

It will be interesting to see how the new owner will handle this – of course, we should be winning a lot more games.

But he needs to understand the Newcastle fans – and our past history and the like – but Rafa will educate him on this.

This is all assuming the reports that documents have been submitted to the Premier League to OK the deal -as has been reported in theSun today.

And that has been announced by multiple news outlets.

Comments welcome.

Lee ryder stating the takeover is not near to completion. I think I also saw Luke Edwards saying the same.

Get yourself a Northumberland plaid/shepherds tartan kilt
I’ve got one – not cheap but I love it – worn it at the match a couple of times – looks dapper!

Once again everyone is getting sucked into a takeover story.

Timing of this working perfectly do deflect the tension of Rafa not signing.

That or the fact Ashley gains a lot of free advertising having NUFC and could, if there is a genuine bid, keep moving the goal posts so it fails.

I’m waiting for a deal to be 100% completed.

Still don’t know what to think, but it’s seems news all over so let’s just hope it can be true

Sorry Bobby, I tried to get going up coming down started, just didn’t seem to work, at least the players managed it though

    Charlie (from previous)
If you turn up at the match wearing your Northumbrian kilt everyone will know who you are ! Thought we were all anonymous on the blog, apart from Jib who everyone knows is….

If we all turn up in the full get up it would be like the clip in the Thomas Crown Affair ( the Piers Brosnan version ) when there’s a hoard of characters all dressed the same.

My birthday is tomorrow—–please let this be true. Still, taking it with huge pile of salt. But if true, the pints will flow and I won’t remember anything until Friday, at least.

    Charlie – think I will.
I’ve worn one before at a wedding and another event – stopped the show. Or maybe it was my knees that attracted the ladies .

If as reported the FA has all it needs to approve the sale, how long would the process take until it is ok’d? Though not a lot of action has taken place yet in the transfer market, I believe Rafa, when given a new contract, would want to get started asap.
