Is Rafa In The Dark About Possible Takeover?

Sky Sports journalist Pete Graves had an interesting tweet earlier about the looming takeover bid of Newcastle by Sheikh Khaled.

The tweet referenced Sheikh Khaled’s failure to buy Liverpool last year. It also mentioned that Rafa Benitez is unaware of any fresh interest in Newcastle.

Rafa Benitez-Is he unaware of possible takeover?

If true this is a bit concerning as surely Rafa would be aware of a takeover bid that is as far along as being reported.

Here is Pete Graves’ tweet:

The reference to Liverpool is a £2B deal that failed to materialize last year. While some reports claim that Sheikh Khaled was unable to offer proof of funds, Liverpool were most likely not for sale.

We are cautiously optimistic about these reports of a takeover.

However, we do emphasize the word “cautiously” as these are only reports with no definitive confirmations at the moment.

But, you could only leave it to Mike Ashley to have finally sold the club and not have bothered to tell Rafa Benitez about it.

So just as Rafa is knee deep in talks about a new contract suddenly a surprise bid for the club appears?

Rafa probably can’t believe the stunts that Ashley pulls!!

Knowing the FA they will fail any bids for not passing fit and proper but will happily let Ashley continue to bleed us dry!!

Tom cruise did a lot of filming here for one of the MI films, as the guy also works for the media it’s highly likely they’d have met.

Whether this bit is true or not I don’t know, but apparently something’s happening at SJP at 3pm today?

If the contracts are signed and with the FA then the club IS sold. It is not a possible takeover. It is taken over. Only the FA can stop the sale. Neither party can pull out of it.
So why is there silence when the contracts are exchanged?? We all know the answer.

Is Ashley cashing in his chips ?
Or is he raising cash to fund some mega retail deal ?
Or is his business empire in the pooh and he needs the cash.
    £120m+£350m = muchas cash £470m

    From the Star.com
KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is reported to be buying UK’s Sports Direct warehouse for £120mil or RM562mil.

UK’s Daily Mail reported on Monday billionaire Mike Ashley, who owns British sportswear retailer Sports Direct International Plc, was selling the site in Shirebrook, Derbyshire although his firm will stay on as a tenant for 15 years.

I really hope that if negotiations are still ongoing they have appointed someone with a bit more decorum and diplomacy than Sheikh Mealy. Sheikh Khaled would no doubt be offended by the antics of Sheikh Mealy and more than likely walk away in disgust.

I hope from the bottom of my heart that this turns out as we all want but like most others won’t be relying on it until it’s official.

10 weeks until the start of the season.

    I’m crossing everything.

This is the most likely time for a sale, the story emerged from the middle east, who cares who broke the news all that counts is that it look like theres a decent chance it’s legit.

This isn’t Kenyon or some mystery group, a name have has dropped, I don’t see a man like this allowing his name to be used as a ruse.

All I know for sure is nothings getting done today except refreshing the various news outlets I have open on my phone.

This takeover talk is guaranteed to hamper our transfer window
Based on the Stavely & Kenyon fiascos this is a big negative
I hope a deal can be done, if it’s not more Ashley bs to avoid spending
But it’s just not probable this is going to be the case

….. a tiny snippet of breaking news!

And then a deluge of disbelief!

Predictable, I suppose, there has always been a cohort of contributors to this blog who seem to enjoy misery and diligently scour for disappointment, and celebrate when they think they’ve found it.

this Smiths song keeps coming to mind –
    Good time for a change
    See, the luck I’ve had
    Can make a good man
    Turn bad
    So please please please
Let me, let me, let me
Let me get what I want
    This time
Haven’t had a dream in a long time
    See, the life I’ve had
Can make a good man bad
So for once in my life
Let me get what I want
Lord knows, it would be the first time
Lord knows, it would be the first time

hopefully it wont become Heaven knows im miserable now
