Newcastle Likely To Miss Out On This Summer Target

In a thrilling Championship Playoff final at Wembley this afternoon, Aston Villa hung on grimly after going two goals up in the second half and managed to win 2-1 and get promoted back to the Premier League.

But it was a great comeback by Derby County with 30 minutes to go as manager Frank Lampard changed things around and put more attackers on the field.

El Ghazi had put Villa ahead just before half time with a well-taken goal but then goalkeeper Kelle Roos committed a real howler when he should have easily collected a cross, but allowed McGinn to move in and put the ball in the net.

That was 2-0 after 59 minutes.

It was then that Derby came back strongly as they had done against Leeds in the semi-final.

They got one back when Waghorn scored a good goal with 9 minutes left.

Tammy Abraham – Aston Villa have first option to buy him this summer – after their promotion today

Villa were wasting time as much as they could and looked disheveled as County had their chances but after 7 minutes of stoppage time, it was over.

Aston Villa, who were relegated with Newcastle in 2016 are now back into the Premier League – and good for them.

This means that on-loan striker Tammy Abraham will likely join Villa if Chelsea decide they can allow their England International leave Stamford Bridge this summer.

Abraham has said he would like to stay at Chelsea and fight for a first-team place.

And with Sheikh Khaled now likely to acquire Newcastle for around 350M, Rafa Benitez will have more money to spend this summer and could well go after better players who will cost more money.

We’ll have to wait and see – but there’s an awful lot to happen over the next two weeks at Newcastle never mind over the summer.

Howay The Lads!!

“We view it as an honour to have the opportunity to build on the strong support, history and tradition of the club.

“We have agreed terms and are working hard to complete the transaction at the earliest opportunity.

So, this is genuine. However, while both parties confirm it, there is still a chance Ashley will screw it up before completion. And going off his history, my bet is he will. I won’t let myself believe it until he is actually sitting in the ho seat.

I’ve been following this blog for years now and very rarely comment, but the recent events have woken me from my slumber. I desperately want this sale to be true but can’t “sheik” the nagging feeling that we’ve been through this too many times before. The cynic in me is telling me to be cool until it’s officially revealed to be true, yet that doesn’t stop me from refreshing my newsfeed every 30 seconds for an update.

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargggghh!

Last night I thought about having a drink, I didn’t as I was playing golf today. Then this morning I thought if this is true maybe I should tell the wife she may have to collect a drunken Geordie golfer at the course, I didn’t.

So due to go to the course in about 30 minutes and I’m stuck in limbo, yesterday’s report made me not sleep much and I was up at 3.30 am checking on every news group I could.

So what is a man to do, not in my 30s anymore so hangovers take way longer to heal, I guess I’m going to wait, hopefully this week is 100% confirmed, I’ve already picked the venue, I know some of the staff so I’m in good hands.

Please let me this week get well and truly biblically pissed, as the Italians would say Arabederci
