Exciting Young Midfielder Likely Available This Summer

Marko Grujic will make the trip to Madrid on Saturday when Liverpool face Premier League rivals Tottenham in the Champions League final. The Serbian midfielder has just rejoined his parent club after an excellent season in the Bundesliga on loan with Hertha Berlin.

Marko Grujic– seems open to leaving Liverpool

Marko Grujic was a highly touted product of the Red Star Belgrade academy when Liverpool bought him in the January of 2016 for €7M.

Marko has made 14 first team appearances with Liverpool since joining them but has spent most of his first few seasons on loan. He joined Cardiff in the winter transfer window in 2018 where he helped them gain promotion.

Last year, however, he was really impressive in the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin. Though he missed two months of the season with torn ankle ligaments, he made 23 appearances with 5 goals and 21 of those appearances in the starting 11.

The 6’3″ midfielder has just turned twenty-three years of age and has made 8 international appearances for Serbia.

While thanking the supporters of Hertha Berlin, he left open the question of his future in an Instagram post.

With quality young players like Ryan Kent, Rafael Camacho, and Harry Wilson likely to leave Liverpool this summer on permanent transfers, we wonder if Marko Grujic has a future at Anfield as well.

We have been steadily linked with Harry Wilson over the past few weeks and he is a player we rate highly. We also like Marko Grujic and think he is a player worth looking at.

The one thing this takeover has showen, is that the local jounos havnt got a clue what is going on.

Panda that’s pretty much same as I had said earlier and it’s how Mike cud balls it up, and scare other bidder too. But I think a Khaled and Co have the power acumen and money to force this through. They agreed a transaction and they feel confident in their funds so they went public, because they don’t foresee issues, and because they probably want to warn other bidders off.

One thing is for certain about this takeover though. They seem very keen to communicate to the masses. Something Ashley has lacked during his tenure.

It would be so nice to have an owner with representatives that communicate with the fans.

Hibbit, yep that’s something I sad yesterday. Even used the same phrase ‘hatchet job’, right after the FT piece came out.

Only two culprits I can think of with the right connections and the PR team to carry it out are our loveable, cuddly owner and a yet-to-be-disclosed rival bidder.

Anyway, I think you’re spot on, it’s a smear campaign.

I will say it again – what does Ashley gain from inventing another takeover story at this point? If Rafa leaves there will be a massive sh!tstorm whatever Hiya KBA does so this has to be coming from the Sheikh’s side and we have to work out the legitimacy from that end and not from Fat Mike’s end.

Unless he puts the price up by a 100 million 🙂

Posh Geordie, I said it years ago mate – ignore him and he’ll go away eventually. He revels in the hatred – he’s not normal.
As the old saying goes “any publicity is good publicity”. Every time he’s attacked, he’s referred to as ‘Sports Direct Owner Mike Ashley …’ Free publicity. Every other fan in the country then rushes to buy something just to piss us off.

I can’t see Ashley deliberately ballsing this one up, if the Bin Zayed Group fancy I suspect they could swat him like a fly.

No doubt their people would have sounded out the Mansours Stavely and others on what Ashley is like to deal with.

They went public after the rumours had been going round nearly 24hrs, I’m unsure who leaked the story originally or where. I suspect as you said they’ve made the announcement as they think they’re far enough along in the deal to do so.

The statement itself is exactly what someone would say on the fringe of buying the club, if it was inaccurate I’m sure Ashley’s people would be all over it.

Relax Toon Army, life carries on even if this doesn’t happen.

I’m on the fence about 60/40 it’s going to happen, to many good reports from the group, we all know most journo’s just write shite to sell papers and keep editors happy.

They go and get a degree, well most of them and just forget that a story needs to be sourced correctly, for most of them it’s all about keeping there jobs and editors happy.

Spoke to one of the bar people yesterday, they know that I’m gearing up for a drunken evening once we’re sold, I’m still hoping this is the case and soon, I’m getting thirsty.

OP: probably the FA or PL was the source of the leak. Ashley doesn’t really have any PEOPLE at NUFC. Charnley, who now knows his place after he tried the coup with Carr and they got burnt by McClaren. Then there is Hiya KBA and Justin Barnes. They wouldn’t say anything without Ashley approving it.

There doesn’t seem to be a conspiracy this time. I think this is genuine and will only fall through if Ashley raises the price – which is entirely possible.

100% – the lack of communication with the fans has been arguably the worst point of Ashley’s tenure.

Just to throw it out there,

    Ashley hates us,

The owner of our club is called a fat cockney b* at every game by every single fan of the club that he owns.

If Ashley gets his asking price from

    A) Arab billionaires
    B) Any other much smaller outfit who have less wealth than him.

Who do you think he sells to?

He chooses option B every time. He gets his asking price and leaves us with new owners with similar financial restrictions and possibly greed as him.

If there’s an option, he will never choose the Arab billionaire who’s going to make all of Newcastles dreams come true. He hates the club and the fans. He wants to get out with his asking price and leave us in as rubbish a position as possible.

I feel the Arab offer is real, Ashley is now using to get a smaller outfit to cough up the asking price so he can sell up with one last two finger salute.

If you look at what happened when Man City were bought by Sheikh Mansour, there was some rumours a few days before, then a statement on 1st Sept saying the takeover was completed. However, it wasn’t until 24th Sept that the takeover was “officially” completed (see articles below).

Hopefully. something similar will proceed with NUFC.

An Englishman, an Irishman and a Canadian get on a plane. Halfway through the flight the pilot says they are low on fuel and have to lighten the load by jettisoning a passenger otherwise they will all die. The Englishman and Irishman both agree that they are sick of hearing about honey badgers so the Canadian has to go.

GS, I concur about the FA or EPL, how else could the sun get the news? And when it did come out BZG responded as I’ve no doubt they were getting hammered with emails etc. Then the club said it was genuine. Hence who else would have known? And, more to the point is the document with the FA already – hence more info tomorrow or maybe Monday (I don’t think Friday either), and then the deal to be wrapped up by the end of next week (although I’m sceptical about that as next week is a family holiday here hence I’m thinking around Monday/Tuesday 10th/11th June of the following week.

DubiaMickey: I have no inside knowledge. I just know there is Rafa and then there aren’t that many others at NUFC and none of them would cross Fat Mike now. Barnes is his lawyer so he will keep quiet. Charnley has learnt his lesson and seen Carr sacked in a power play with Rafa and Hiya KBA has nothing to gain from putting out a fake Sheikh story.
