Exciting Young Midfielder Likely Available This Summer

Marko Grujic will make the trip to Madrid on Saturday when Liverpool face Premier League rivals Tottenham in the Champions League final. The Serbian midfielder has just rejoined his parent club after an excellent season in the Bundesliga on loan with Hertha Berlin.

Marko Grujic– seems open to leaving Liverpool

Marko Grujic was a highly touted product of the Red Star Belgrade academy when Liverpool bought him in the January of 2016 for €7M.

Marko has made 14 first team appearances with Liverpool since joining them but has spent most of his first few seasons on loan. He joined Cardiff in the winter transfer window in 2018 where he helped them gain promotion.

Last year, however, he was really impressive in the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin. Though he missed two months of the season with torn ankle ligaments, he made 23 appearances with 5 goals and 21 of those appearances in the starting 11.

The 6’3″ midfielder has just turned twenty-three years of age and has made 8 international appearances for Serbia.

While thanking the supporters of Hertha Berlin, he left open the question of his future in an Instagram post.

With quality young players like Ryan Kent, Rafael Camacho, and Harry Wilson likely to leave Liverpool this summer on permanent transfers, we wonder if Marko Grujic has a future at Anfield as well.

We have been steadily linked with Harry Wilson over the past few weeks and he is a player we rate highly. We also like Marko Grujic and think he is a player worth looking at.

This midhat fella has communicated to us more in these past few days then Ashley has in his ENTIRE tenure.

    It’s crazy to be honest.

Proof of funds was done on 17th April 2019 – where is that info coming from?

“The proof of funds statement was forwarded to Mike Ashley’s lawyers on 17 April 2019.” (A part of the statement) (link: https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-takeover-bin-zayed-16347758) chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football…

    From nufc.com:

    Sheikh news

Update: Chronicle at 1pm on Wednesday:

Bin Zayed Group’s managing director Midhat Kidwai:

“In consideration of the numerous speculations in regards to the timelines of the acquisition of Newcastle United Football Club by Bin Zayed Group, we feel the need to issue this statement.

Terms have been agreed between us and Mike Ashley; these terms have been reflected in a document, signed by both parties, which has been forwarded to the Premier League.

“The proof of funds statement was forwarded to Mike Ashley’s lawyers on 17 April 2019.

The so called fit-and-proper Premier League process is a standard procedure which will take time, and we are doing all we can to assist the Premier League during this process.

“We feel the need to clarify this point in order for the fans and the general public to understand the timelines.”

Interesting that it was the 17th. A few days after the leicester win away which all but secured survival. Reading from the last statement these chaps have clearly thought out a timeline. Probably is obvious but nice to know they’re communicating/excited and planning. All very exciting from out point of view.

I only believe The Chronicle when they have actual quotes. Their journalists only do clickbait otherwise and Lee Ryder cannot put a coherent story together that is longer than a tweet.

They’ll be no club statement, because the club’s executive and board level make-up is a joke. One of the worst part of Ashley’s entire reign, has been communication. Had he had any tact on that front he may not be as hated as he is. But alas, soon he will be old news!

GS, I reckon he met either the Sheikh or one of his close associates at the London meeting.

Genjikai was dropping some subtle hints last night about things he’d heard from his cousin Kelland Watts direct from Ashley after the last game of the season. Rafa knew by that point, for sure. If not, he knew from that point.

Regarding Rafa Benitez, the group absolutely want to keep him as the manager and are trying to complete the deal BEFORE his contract expires. They are trying to complete the takeover as “soon as possible” working within the process.
