Fans Demand Statement From Newcastle (Ashley) On Status Of Acquisition

Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed al-Nahyan’ company – Bin Zayed Group – have for the second time issued a statement clarifying what they have done in trying to acquire Newcastle.

This is the update (clarification) and it seems they have done everything the Sun reported when they broke the news two days ago.

It seems they are calling out Mike Ashley since the club have said there is still some way to go with the takeover.

But signed forms of the agreed to offer of £350M have already been sent to the Premier League and proof of funds was sent to Mike Ashley’s lawyers in mid-April.

Mike Ashley – will he finally be leaving the Toon – hope so

So why are Newcastle not saying anything – or more accurately – why isn’t Mike Ashley on behalf of Mash Holdings saying something?

It’s Mike Ashley’s way to usually say nothing but he should respond to the latest statement.

Here’s what fans think – they want to hear from Ashley – and why are they being so quiet?

Well, if the fans have demanded it, no doubt a statement shall be forthcoming soon.

Joking aside, this does appear to be picking up steam. Could we be so lucky…

Trying to get the club to give information away freely is like trying to nail jelly to a tree.

CAN someone on Twitter please start pasting these itk’s and journo’s their old statements about the club being unsure of funds, deal a long way off etc and ask them their opinions now.

Are they calling this group liars?
Will they admit they have no contacts and it’s all guesswork they are passing off as inside info?

I’d like to see their replies and try to justify all they have claimed.

I don’t care if the club doesn’t say anything but the statements from the buyer are promising and if it’s all true and agreements have been signed and proof of funds have been submitted, the only thing to prevent the sale going through is if Ashley is not a willing seller…..

Here’s a thought, Friday was mentioned regularly, maybe that’s when the FA will announce it as a done deal?

Graves has tweeted that he believes this statement to be true but the lack of any word from Ashley or the club is what’s causing all the doubts.

Got to say it’s already a relief to have an owner in waiting who’s contact with the fans has already outdone any effort the current regime has managed in the last 12 years!

Good times just round the corner lads……………..

Andy Carroll leaving on a free. Perfect timing, back up here on a pay as you play deal, backup for Rondon for last 15 mins if we are losing.

I’d take him as long as we aren’t tied into paying him while injured.

Wow, wow fcukin wow. This really does look like it Will happen now.
How refreshing to see the MD of the company soon to be our new owners come out with an open statement to explain where things are up to.
Obviously all the cynical , doubting comments from the media, the club and many on here are due to the seedy, underhand way Ashley has handled almost everything since it was our misfortune to have him as owner of our great club.
Quite rightly the new owners have moved quickly to dispel all the derogatory rumours about funds not being proven etc. so as not to allow their good company name to be dragged through the shite because of all the mistrust Arsehole Ashley has generated.

We can hopefully look forward to our club now being run in a professional organised manner when we finally replace the despicable Sheikh Mealy with a decent honourable Sheikh.

Well back in and slowly catching up from where i left off Blog this morning and been getting more and more excited that it is all really happening. 🙂 😉 😉

Not yet caught SSN but next on my list – can’t have drink still driving to do and want statement from Club in case there is yet a sting in tale but surely not and FA can’t stop can they.

We have waited a long time for this news and sense of being a Club on the up not making do.

Glad it looks as though Rafa on board for our revival.

Just realised that those jet reservations are presumably for all the new players coming in for medicals 😉

Someone mentioned if this goes through then we should invite King Kev and Mrs Robson to the first game to show the history and to give two fingers to MA. I couldn’t agree more, would be nice to see Kev back at Newcastle and of course the respected Mrs. Robson.

    Repost :

At the risk of getting shot down, where exactly does this leave Charnley, I can see him being kept on in some capacity as he must feel he is in a strong position re his knowledge of the tax laws ( yeh I know, I laughed out loud when I wrote it) the running of the club, his knowledge in buying and selling players, his close ties to the football league. His relationship with Rafa and local knowledge.

To get someone to replace him immediately as the sale goes through would be difficult, so would make sense to keep him, to bed in a replacement.

I know this is low down the list of improvements we need, just can’t see him not being there to tie this up and pass everything over and staying on in an advisory role.

if they submitted proof of funds 17th April, its most likely they interest into fit and proper tests around similar time… someone was saying earlier that process takes 4-5 weeks, which would line up nicely for any time about now.

    happy days Toon, happy days

There must be some way Rafa’s contract can be sorted out before 30th June – surely it’s the interests of both seller & buyer to ensure they have him tied down to a long deal.

Maybe Rafa has already signed and they are waiting to announce it alongside the club’s official announcement of the sale ?

Although there has been no confirmation there has been no denial either. As the announcement specifically mentions Mike Ashley by name surely his PR would very quickly deny it if it wasn’t true – so I think we can take silence as a confirmation by Ashley’s standards!

Bet Peter Beardsley is sick that he brown nosed Ashley and all the people who did the same will be remembered. Payback time.
