There were reports this past January that Newcastle were in negotiations for Juventus left-back Rogerio Oliveira da Silva, known simply as Rogerio.
There is a report in the newspaper Tuttosport that Newcastle are after the Brazilian again this summer.
Rafa after Juventus left-back Rogerio
The outlet Sportwitness has a screenshot of the actual newspaper report today which we have reproduced below.
The 21-year-old joined Sassuolo for €1.5M from Brazilian club Sport Club Internacional in the 2016 winter window.
Juventus then purchased the player that summer for €2M and loaned him back to Sassuolo for the past two seasons.
Rogerio broke into the first team at Sassuolo in February 2018 and has been a regular starter ever since. He has made 49 appearances for Sassuolo with 42 of those in the starting eleven.
While generally a left-back, he has played as a left-sided midfielder this season as well.
Now that Rogerio’s loan spell is over, he is back at Juventus but well down in the pecking order.
With Alex Sandro and Leonardo Spinazzola in their prime and ahead of him at the left back position, Juventus may be willing to cash in on the youngster.
The report claims the fee would be in the €20- €25M range.
This is an exciting young player who would fit well in Newcastle’s system at left wing-back if these reports are accurate.

Comment #121Would love to see us sign Martinez from Atalanta he looks tailor made for the premier league! Pace Power movement and can finish well reminds me of Tevez a bit!!
Has a telepathic understanding with Almiron as well which would be a good thing also!!

Comment #125First Rafa signed ofc, then for players I would love Rondon snapped up first. Then for a bit of flash like Gelson Martins down the wing and a bit of steel in midfield in Allan from Napoli. Then a quality CAM, LB and RB dunno who yet, and then to op it off in style a statement striker like Joelington or someone similar. That would make a great summer I would say.

rondon makes sense he is an integral part of our season
buying him we start the season where we finished and it will allow a bit of time for new signing to bed and the
evolution of the team to begin
i think our defence was 7th for goals conceded while i would upgrade our wingbacks schar linguine leschelles dummet fernandez will prob be ok for another season or 2

Comment #128Lee Charnley Bunga Party- yeah I’ve always liked the look of Martinez ever since we started getting linked with Almiron. As you say the pair of them work great together and he is also from Venezuela like Rondon, the camaraderie and chemistry in the team would be brilliant. Also the pace in the team will scare the hell of the opposition.
I wouldn’t be disappointed if we got him and not Joelington lol heck why not both after all… WE’RE RICH BIIIIIITCHHH!!! Haha Love It!!! One can dream again!! Ahhhhh we’ve waited so long for this.

Comment #129A bad season for Chelsea is 3rd in the league. Getting beat by penalties in the League Cup and winning the Europa League.
We need to start having some bad seasons.

I’d def upgrade the wing backs, have to see what Haydens doing but a quality replacement for him or Mo or Both. Then a right sided winger another foward and back up for dubs.
Not much really

Comment #140I think our striker target is already done and sealed. Wesley Moraes seems to be it.
Same at left back – Loris Benito seems to have gone very quiet since he ‘arrived in England’ a couple of days ago.
Could be we get a barrage of announcements:
Club sold
Rafa signed
Moraes signed
Benito signed

Comment #156Diame contract up in June according to nufc.com. Sean Longstaff looks good, but it wouldn’t be fair to look at him playing a full season. Like most top teams, you need two players for each position. Young players need to be rested and brought on gradually.

not a clue who we should buy if i am honest
its going to be a interesting and exciting window
apart from almiron i think all our other buys have been from relegated clubs so for us to now start cherry picking players paying the going rate and giving the manager the tools to his job
a marquee signing on dead line day could be fun as well
