Fans Desperate For Real News On Takeover And Rafa’s New Contract

It’s not the first time under the ownership of Mike Ashley that there is a complete vacuum of information about what’s exactly going on at the club.

Ashley has never been a good communicator and he’s proving that again by not talking about where we are with Rafa’s contract – for one thing.

That was Newcastle’s stated number one priority after the season ended on May 12th – to get Rafa signed to a new deal.

It’s June 1st in a couple of days and still nothing from the club.

No communications at all on any progress, coming out of the club.

And the Bin Zayed Group have issued two statements to fans and others this week on the status of their attempted takeover of Newcastle United.

It seems as though it is well along in terms of being completed.

And still nothing from Newcastle.

Mike Ashley – an owner who does not communicate – so nobody knows what’s going on

Surely Ashley is on his way out – any attempt to scuttle the deal with Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed al-Nahyan now – will show once and for all he has no intention of selling the club – whatever he says.

He simply cannot be trusted, which is one reason Mike Ashley should never have owned a football club – especially Newcastle United.

Here are what fans are saying about the situation and they are desperate for real hard news on what exactly is going on at Newcastle.

BZG have said quite a lot, tried to keep everyone well informed which is good, however not once have they ever stated that their intention is to keep Rafa as manager, I get the distinct impression that they have another manager lined up if they do take over.

This takeover is no different to the last two attempts. Both had no latest news on them on ever. Same this time round.
Last two were PR stunts from the very beginning, same this time round.
I just find it very hard to believe how gullible most ppl really are.
Accept it now and prepare the backlash for Ashley.

Shadow Shearer if this is all a hoax of Ashley’s making how do you explain the multiple statements from the Bin Zayed group confirming an agreement and ongoing work to to complete the transaction?

    Shadow Shearer

This is totally different to the previous attempts, Staveley and Kenyon were fronts, negotiating for others, this time we know who the top man is and we are far more aware of what is happening, that doesn’t mean that it will go through, but unlike the past attempts there is substance to this one.

I know nothing about the Emirati bid. Could happen, I guess. But I know the American bid is still on, and at an advanced stage. But all partes sworn to secrecy. Which makes me wonder about the Arabs. Can’t say more.

Do you honestly think BZG would get the ball rolling by going against the wishes of the fans and bringing in their own man? , let’s face it , it wouldn’t be very good PR and do you honestly think Rafa would walk just for the sake of waiting 2 weeks or so to sort out a contract? ,Christ, Rafa has been fed peanuts for 3 yrs by Ashley. Do you honestly think he would walk now when there is a new owner who is willing to back him with serious cash?

I doubt Rafa would walk, but apparently amongst all the articles which I’ve read there was one, Chronicle I believe who asked BZG the question if Rafa would be kept on, allegedly they have not had a reply yet, coupled with no mention from them that they intend to keep him, then it is fair to assume that they may have someone else in mind.

With all due respect that is a newspaper report, it has not came from the BZG, nothing about Rafa has, that doesn’t mean that they won’t keep him, but based on their openness so far I would have thought that they would have said yes he is staying if that is their intent.

Well we have a load of people coming out of the woodwork (as woodlice do), and pouring cold water on the bid.

Let me tell you, they’re jealous, jealous of the Toon, jealous of the new owner, jealous of the fans who are behind the club (not ashLIE).

Treat them with the contempt they deserve, they’re the ne’r do wells Jeremy Kyle brigade, sponging off the state and with no idea about business.

Let them go, they’re not wanted in the Toon – sadly, once it’s done they’ll be the plastic fans buying knock off shirts at the local market that don’t benefit the club at all.

Seriously, you lot make me ashamed.

The American bid is still on? Where are the updates from them? At least this new group have attempted to explain the status of their attempt. As bids go I’m much happier with this one. It seems more solid and substantial somehow. More nutritious and healthy. It has that “we’re owned by a wealthy Sheikh you know” gravitas.

giving a yes or no answer to a news outlet probably wouldn’t be high on their list of priorities bearing in mind BZG most likely haven’t been in contact with Rafa himself .

MickyZee, they’re taking over the club. Rafa isn’t the bricks and mortar of the club (although I would suggest he’s currently the mortar that holds the bricks together).

Why should they say what they will do, who they will bring in, who they will replace, ffs, let them get the deal over the line first.

I think Rafa will obviously get very respectful treatment from the new owners when the takeover is complete. They will outline their vision of the future of the club to him and then wait to see what he thinks.
