Rafa Wants To Sign £20M Goal Machine This Summer

There are reports in the Columbia media today that Newcastle will launch a £20M bid for 22-year-old 3 times capped Columbian International forward Alfredo Morelos.

Morelos signed a three-year deal with Rangers from HJK Helsinki in June 2017 for an undisclosed fee, thought to be £1M – so this would be a massive profit for the Scottish Premiership club.

He had a great season for Rangers last season and in 48 total games he scored 30 goals and had 11 assists and there are reported to be a number of clubs interested in him.

While at HJK Helsinki, he played 62 games and scored 46 goals with 13 assists – so he can score the goals and create them too.

And while at Rangers for the last two seasons he has played 91 games with 48 goals and 19 assists although the league north of the border is a lot different than the English Premier league in class and skill.

Columbian outlet DonBalon claim that Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez wants to sign the player this summer.

Marseille, Leicester and Borussia Dortmund and Leicester are all interested in the player.

But he has been controversial too over the last two seasons with 5 red cards so that may be something will look at before trying to sign the player.

We are linked with a lot of players who are quite expensive.

We’re not sure if these will be targets if Ashley remains the Newcastle owner or they will become targets if Sheikh Khaled is successful in buying the club.

Comments welcome.

I believe Lee is the go-to guy for all HMRC related matters at NUFC so he may be a busy boy for some time. The Sheikh will leave it to the tax boys to sort out.

Joselu has just said in a recent interview that

“it depends on the new board”

    Regarding his future.

    Hmmmmm. The plot thickens.

Mag 😛 – You’re a bit late on that news, he definitely said that, but is he going by 1- inside info or 2- just rumours we hear in the media? I prefer the first option lol

Even this tax thingy. Its a sum around about five million if my memory serves me correctly? Considering the amounts involved in football, five million is hardly the crime of the century. 🙂 Unless someone has been actually taking money out, then chances are the club will chalk it up to an administration error, accept responsibility and pay the money plus fine.
If, however, someone HAS had their fingers in the till and written it off as tax discrepancies, then Uncle Mike might demand the death penalty.
And OO, I suspect Penfold has been taking one from Ashley in so many different ways it doesn’t bear consideration mate!!! 🙂

Airbourne, the free Eastbourne air show scheduled for 15-19 August.

False alarm about the Dakota, it’s done a few passes this afternoon presumably preparing for the D-Day bash at Portsmouth next week. Pity Trump’s git to have his evil snout in on it.

What chances Liverpool and Spurs fans embarrassing English football again tomorrow – or even tonight?
There’s a lot of fans out there without tickets. Most will have gone with good intentions of just enjoying the moment and falling lucky on somebody selling a ticket.
But the booze enters the equation. All it takes is two large groups of rival fans clashing and it could evolve into a national disgrace. They’re expecting about 70-100k fans without tickets. Let’s hope they can behave. I’d hate us to finally have chance of European football thanks to Sheikh Loadsamoney, only to see it snatched from us because of other fans’ behaviour. Anybody around my age can’t help but remember how we all once had a five year ban because of one clubs’ behaviour. Everton fans constantly remind their kinfolk that they’re only chance of European Cup football was, stolen from them…
An all English final is a great chance to finally put all that behind us and maybe give us a chance of hosting a WC again. Prove to FIFA we deserve it. Don’t blow it please.

Morelos would be worth a punt but maybe not for £20m. £15m or less for him i can see being accepted.
Guy almost certainly has a future bigger than Rangers though.
As for other players from Scotland, Tierney is the obvious one. Has his head screwed on it seems too.
Then Ajer, who looks to become the next Van Dijk type player from Celtic. Comfortable with the ball at his feet, plenty of potential there.
Edouard is worth keeping an eye on, big strong boy.
To a lesser extent theres Ntcham and Rogic but i cant see them making it in the premier league.
Finally theres Lewis Ferguson from Aberdeen. Not as good as the above players yet but he is 19 i believe. Time to develop.

The original article are quoting £5 mil which sounds right for a player in the spl with a year left on his contract

The day Mike Ashley leaves nufc will be a day of street parties and all day drinking

Hopefully that day will be soon

What feels different this time is there no clauses no instalments being talked about just meeting his asking price and getting him gone

Happy f**king days hopefully his tubby shadow will never grace SJP again
