Classy Benitez Tweets Support To Former Club and Manager

Liverpool Football Club has won their sixth European Cup with a win over Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid. What a feeling that must be for their tremendous supporters and all associated with the historic club.

Rafa Benitez, who was at the helm when Liverpool won the Champions League in 2005, has tweeted congratulations to the club and the fans. He has also made a special mention of their current manager Jurgen Klopp.

The classy Rafa Benitez’s tweet is:

Jurgen Klopp has done a fantastic job at Liverpool and this is a well-deserved trophy for the club and its fans.

Rafa has a deep connection with Liverpool having been their manager from 2004 to 2010. The high point being that amazing comeback win in 2005 against AC Milan when Liverpool was struggling in the league.

Rafa Benitez and Jurgen Klopp– now both Liverpool legends

With the possibility of a brighter future on the horizon for Newcastle, you have to think that Rafa believes he can take this club to that pinnacle of success.

While watching the Liverpool players celebrate on that stage with their fans singing in the stands, we’re sure we weren’t the only ones who thought – what if?

It’s the hope that kills. But we may have reasons to dream if this takeover happens.

Now is as good a time as ever to quote Liverpool’s legendary manager Bill Shankly:

“Aim for the sky and you’ll reach the ceiling. Aim for the ceiling and you’ll stay on the floor.”

If this takeover happens and Rafa Benitez is the manager, you better believe he will be aiming for the sky.

I would like a takeover to be a reality but unfortunately there’s so much about it that has a pretty fake ring to it. Sorry to dampen the optimism but this breaking news from the ” buying party” with talk of deals being done and good news imminent etc and total silence from both sides thereafter does not sound like high level business conduct at all. If this is a takeover I would be seriously wary of how the new club hierarchy would conduct itself.

What is a shame is that the serial liars, self promoters and bullies who ice the cake with their own claims of prior knowledge will no doubt continue to post as if they were innocent all along and only “passing along what they heard” etc and worse enjoy the simpering cameraderie of the spineless and gullible who will wait with bated breath to lap up the next episode of misinformation and fake scoops.

Can you imagine what it will be like if this is all a big joke or a stupid bit of PR manipulation? We will be the laughing stock of English football. That’s if we aren’t already.

    Yep

Same lie as usual with exactly the same outcome

How many more times do you think he can do this without making himself look like an utter fool in the eyes of the public and the media

Bring on the next fake sale,it’s just another step towards our goal

    Yup,
If this is all a big ruse, no takeover and no Rafael then I do think the shit will hit the fan. Big time.
That’s what makes me think this takeover is on. Ashley would have a nightmare on his hands, final straw for the fans (clinging) on the fence.

I am with both of yous on this one. This is all nonsense, there is no takeover happening. It’s the same story as the previous two attempts.

People will keep following for the same crap even if it happens 100 times over. There would be nothing more satisfying than Ashley selling to club to a sheikh, but realistically how many times can Ashley f*** the deal up?!?!

Is it becoming a joke?? Or was it all a joke from the very beginning?!?!

Anybody else had the scary thought that Rafa wasn’t only at the CL final as a spectator? That is if Tottenham don’t loosen their own purse strings, and Pochettino leaves, then someone who is used to (moderate) success with a tight budget may just be in the stands watching on?

Please stay Rafa. We all know you read this blog!

    We love you!

I’ve kept quiet on the whole takeover saga so far, but it’s a pretty strange situation. Ashley said previously, or the official club statement at least, said any takeover needed to be done in privacy, and not played out in the media.

Why announce a deal has been struck, when it clearly hasn’t? I can’t believe the fit and proper persons test is causing the delay. So what is? If a deal was done, as the BZG statements said, then they must have agreed terms, costs and the details of all the separate entities within the club, and advertising.

Have BZG lied? Has Ashley moved the goalposts? Was this genuine? There is a rabbit off somewhere in all this. I’m not saying its all fake, but there are a lot of elements that don’t make sense in a business deal of this magnitude. Do BZG regularly publically announce major acquisitions before they are complete? Based on what I know, and what I’ve read, it doesn’t appear to be the Arabic way at all. Maybe BZG are a bit rogue and do do this, but it seems strange.

Hopefully we aren’t being strung along, but there are plenty of oddities that make skepticism very understandable.

I really hope that you are correct in your assertions but (and I know I’m wasting my time asking this) what makes you think anything we say or do is going to change anything.

If we have been sold then he’s out of the club, finito!

If we aren’t then things will continue as they are, you or I (or anyone else) is going to change anything.
