Liverpool Football Club has won their sixth European Cup with a win over Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid. What a feeling that must be for their tremendous supporters and all associated with the historic club.
Rafa Benitez, who was at the helm when Liverpool won the Champions League in 2005, has tweeted congratulations to the club and the fans. He has also made a special mention of their current manager Jurgen Klopp.

Jurgen Klopp has done a fantastic job at Liverpool and this is a well-deserved trophy for the club and its fans.
Rafa has a deep connection with Liverpool having been their manager from 2004 to 2010. The high point being that amazing comeback win in 2005 against AC Milan when Liverpool was struggling in the league.
Rafa Benitez and Jurgen Klopp– now both Liverpool legends
With the possibility of a brighter future on the horizon for Newcastle, you have to think that Rafa believes he can take this club to that pinnacle of success.
While watching the Liverpool players celebrate on that stage with their fans singing in the stands, we’re sure we weren’t the only ones who thought – what if?
It’s the hope that kills. But we may have reasons to dream if this takeover happens.
Now is as good a time as ever to quote Liverpool’s legendary manager Bill Shankly:
“Aim for the sky and you’ll reach the ceiling. Aim for the ceiling and you’ll stay on the floor.”
If this takeover happens and Rafa Benitez is the manager, you better believe he will be aiming for the sky.
