Spanish Striker On His Way Out Of Club

There is a report today from Spain’s Mundo Deportivo which details the recent transfer news for La Liga club Alaves. One name at the end of the report that has significance for Newcastle United fans is that of Joselu.

Joselu– could this be goodbye?

The report states that the striker is leaving Newcastle for Alaves. This has been a growing rumour of late which we reported on last month.

The last paragraph of the report translates to the following:

Up front, the Swedish Guidetti already has a first companion with the signing of Lucas Pérez. It is a matter of time before the arrival of the Spanish-German Joselu, who flees from the Premier League, due to the lack of opportunities, in search of regularity and opportunities that he has not had under Benitez in Newcastle. It remains for a time how Garitano will mix so much talent in the line of attack and if there can be any exit movement in the case of the Swede, after his bad season last year.

Even without the coming takeover by BZG, Joselu was most likely on his way out of the club.  He featured very little this past year and seems to realize that his future is no longer at Newcastle.

We have admired Joselu’s determination and willingness to give his all.  We wish him the best if this latest news turns out to be true.

I’m sure joselu will be a lovely character, but when talking strictly about football I must say good riddance!!!

Joselu such a waste of money. Could have spent that on some budding young striker who at the very least would have gotten our money back. he was shite

If we are given good money to spend, I hope we spend it sensibly. Unlike manure. Couple more signing like Almiron for 20 million each, Rondon for 16 million, a new defensive mid, shove Ritchie left back and we should be sorted

I’d have kept him…..to join the FM team! Lots of carpet to lay and new chairs to clean apparently. He could even chat to perez whilst warming his kneecaps up for him lol.

In all fairness he was brought in out of desperation but he got to play for NUFC. Thanks for trying 🙂

Did Joselu end up being one of the top 100 Spanish Newcastle strikers of all time?

Reckon Owen would sit on the bench and fake injury when called upon for £5M…….he would then bet more than that during his NAAFI break.

Wish him the best, just wasn’t really up to premier league standards, worth a gamble and if we can get most of the money back for him then all’s good. Remember Tosen or something like that, went to Everton for huge money and hasn’t done shite, our gamble not that big in comparison.

How much did we end up paying Xisco again? I think he had one goal for us didn’t he?

Yep Demba and Papisse were the best two I think. Ba and Cisse, real strikers. Too bad Pardew couldn’t find a way to play them together.

5 million is cheap for a striker but althpugh he always tried he just didnt cut it. Saying that though there are bargains about, how about sibierski, i always liked him and he popped up with a few goals and was nowt i believe and even darryl murphy came in and did an ok job when asked.

With Ashley still in charge we probably would have gone after Glenn Murray next…

I still believe Xisco was one of the finest nonstrikers ever to not strike goals for us. The lack of skill, the absence of any guile, it was all there…..

Actually Marlon Harewood was a pretty decent striker. For West Ham. He had 14 one season I believe.
